I think i get upset/ annoyed by things to easily so would be intereted to know if IABU to be cross/ upset about the following.

I was really good friends with a girl at work years ago - she moved back home to Newcastle (from London) 6 years ago and got pregnant quite soon after - i have been up there to visit numerous times when she was pregnant and since the baby was born (now 5 years ago) which is a pretty long journey esp when i drove but was happy to do this as she had a baby and i didn't. Every Christmas and birthday since i have sent her LO a present and card.

So A was born 9 weeks ago and i haven't even got a card from her just a text - i don't buy people presents in order to get them in return, i actually really like giving people presents but I'm a bit peeved that she hasn't even sent a card - or AIBU?!

I get where you are coming from and don't think you are being unreasonable.

I have this on occaision with presents I buy people for birthday or Christmas. It is not that I buy presents and expect to get them in return I just think it is nice for people to at least acknowledge your birthday or Christmas in return with a card.

Sometimes we don't even get a thank you for the presents we have sent and that really gets to me.

I dont think you are being unreasonable. A card wouldnt go a miss - even a phone call!!

I dont give to recieve either but after 5 years of pressies for her LO you would think at least there would be a card!

my niece was born 3yrs ago..when she was born i sent sooo many clothes and toys (and flew over) i also sent my sil flowers and ballons after the birth.. and bought lots since.. my son was born 16 months ago.. im stil waiting for a card.. some people just dont do these things.. yes it did annoy me i mean you can buy a plain card in tescos for 50p and a stamp for i dunno 30p so for less than £1 you can show that you care.. but i suppose some people dont think!!

I don't think you are BU at all.  However, could it be that she doesn't have the money for a gift at the moment and mistakenly thinks a card wouldn't suffice?

No, I don't think you are BU. It's the small things that make all the difference IMO

A card would have been a lovely way to welcome A into the world, shame on your friend
