Where's my AF gone??

Ok so I was due on Sat, although that was based on a 28 day cycle and mine are consistently under 26 days, usually around 24 if not shorter. No, we rather stupidly, had unprotected sex the end of last week, but only when it was past the point where I'd usually expect AF to show up iyswim, I'd been having cramps like AF was about to start. I did a test yesterday, just to rule out pregnancy and it was very definitely a negative. So what's going on? I have had flu this month, could that have delayed my period? If that's a possibility, could ovulation have been delayed also meaning we may still be at risk of me getting pregnant, or would a positive have shown up already? I had some spotting mid (normal) cycle which I thought was ovulation, although I don't usually get spotting. Gah.

I guess I'll just have to wait a bit and re-test if it doesn't show, I'm not good at waiting though

Illness can definitely throw it all, and you have been REALLY run down x Didn't you only recently have the coil removed too? How many cycles have you had since then?

Coil was taken out in November, have had 5/6 periods since then I think. Glad to here S isn't entirely accurate

That's still close enough to coil removal for them to be skewy I reckon <knows nothing disclaimer>... if the slipup last week was the only one, you'd have to wait 10+ days to see a BFP in any case from that.

You have been really run down, have you been taking any iron supplements btw?

It's a while since I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, but I'm pretty sure in there it said that if you are ill it can delay ovulation, thus making your af appear later (as the luteal phase is always the same).  Does that make sense?

Have been taking iron for over 3 weeks now Madge. The coil I had was non-hormonal so I don't think it greatly affects the length of cycle/ovulation etc, just how much you bleed/how long you bleed. I don't know for sure though so I guess it's a wait and see

Here's hoping you get the outcome u want! I'm in a similar quandry - not had AF since sarah was born 20 weeks ago but DTD last weekend the the following day I noticed had forgotten to take the pill for the previous three days! No idea if i'm ovulating or not yet so no idea when I should test!!! didn't get cramps from missing pill as i usually would (I do this often!) We were planning a small age gap but not quite that small!!!

Well 10 days from MU is this weekend, maybe? Everything crossed for you xxx
