    Hi all,

just a quick one from me as I've been quiet on here recently. I had a long weekend off from work but work has been so crappy recently, that I was also checking e-mails from home and dealing with some stuff. My boss if off sick today and off tomorrow and has cancelled our one to ones for the last couple of months, I have less than 3 weeks at work, no replacement (I've practically handled getting a replacement at all!), I've had to take on employee relations cases which I'm not going to finish because we're just too busy and I'm just generally fed up :-(. I also have to make a journey later for some investigation meetings and the journey home is about 2 hours and I have to get a bus, tube then my train (again I was promised I wouldn't have to travel out of base at this late stage) I am really counting down the days until maternity leave now.......

Plus I have had my mum over for the last few days, and much as I love her and she has been so generous buying baby bits, she wears me out and has started with her advice about what to do with a baby and even about me having another one!

On the positive side, baby is moving lots and I'm really looking forward to their arrival. All this stress will hopefully be worth it in the end!
    (Sorry for such negativity everyone)

Hope everyone has a good day and for those not feeling so good, big hugs all round :-)

  • Re: ***Tuesday 3rd Tri***

    good morning

Hannah - Good luck with your exam today.  Try not to over do it as you have a long day.  I know what you mean about limbs moving but not knowing what they are.  Bean is very active at the head and foot end so much so I can't decide which way up he is!

incognito - Pack that bag!  I hope you have a nice lunch with your friends.

moz - I'm really pleased to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel with William not being well.  I know you have been having a hard time because of it.  It's difficult enough being pregnant, then adding in a toddler and then extra hard adding in that toddler being sick.

lish - How exciting for tomorrow!  I bet you have trouble sleeping tonight.  It took me a long while with Isobel to get my head round it all and I'm in denial about the responsibility of having 2

Maddona - welcome over my dear.

NO - It sounds like you have a lovely day resting planned.

Sparkling - yuck on the poo front!  I hope you and H get your relaxing morning without E.  Where are you going to get your nursing bras from?  We only really have mothercare and they have a tiny range but I'm dubious about buying on line without being properly fitted.  I still have a few from last time that I've taken to wearing now but I would like some nice new ones.

PP- You really sounds like you are suffering.  As the others said if your work pay when you are off sick (my H's don't they ust do SMP) I would get signed off sick and keep your prescious ml.

MrsVLL - I bet you are pleased that the baby has moved and your section is cancelled.  I hope you don't have too long to wait.  Sending you baby out vibes x

AFM - I have washed all the covers and bits and pieces on the pram.  I would really like a new one as I don't rate the silver cross 3d which we have.  The frame has twisted and its a pain to put up and down but its not bad enough to justify buying a new one.

This baby will be going in with us for some time (Izzy was in with us until she was 13 months) and then sharing a room with Izzy so no nursery to sort out for us , which is a bit sad.  We do have 4 bedrooms and they don't have to share but 2 bedrooms are on the 3rd floor and until Izzy's abit older I don't want her up there by herself.

E got up to Izzy in the night so I had an alright nigths sleep so no major complaints here for once.

daydreamer - sorry I missed you there.

It sounds like your work are being crap!  I have 6 weeks to go, no official maternity cover and my boss keeps joking that they aren't going to "authorise" my ml.  I did point out he has no say in that.  I can tell I'm going to have a similar time at the end and that they will probably be bugging me when I'm on leave.  I think some bosses just like to stick their heads in the sand and pretend it's not happening rather than actually dealing with it.

moz - glad you finally got to see a GP that listened. Hope W is on the mend now. Sounds like you had a productive weekend

Madonna - hello and welcome to third tri

NO - hope your midwife appt goes well, enjoy your day off today

Sparkling - have a nice relaxing day with Mr Sparkling today

PP - sorry to hear you are struggling so much with SPD - take things easy

  • Re: ***Tuesday 3rd Tri***

NightOwl/MrsVLL/Angeldust - I had thought about doing that (I get full pay on sick leave) because we really can't afford for me to take an extra time off on ML.  I've got a few worries about it though - I don't really want to just 'disappear' from work but the thought of being here on a Friday and saying 'it's my last day today' and then having to phone in sick seems very odd.  Also, there are a couple of days that I want to work as Keeping In Touch days between starting my maternity leave and my due date - would this look odd if I'd been signed off sick for those two weeks?

Work know how much I'm suffering and keep telling me I shouldn't be here so they'd be ok with me being signed off sick, it's just the planning of being off sick that makes me a bit uncomfortable.

  • Re: ***Tuesday 3rd Tri***

PP - I have a feeling if you are signed off sick you can't do any work for the period of the sick note so I don't think you would be able to work those days.

  • Re: ***Tuesday 3rd Tri***

That'd be fine.  I'd get the sick note for two weeks to take me up to my ML starting and then it's about 10 days until the first KIT day I'd want to do.

  • Re: ***Tuesday 3rd Tri***

    Evening,

Not sure if anyone is around now digi and pebbles have had their babies (very naughty particularly pebbles who thought she would be around for at least another week to keep me company!!)

We have picked our new car up today, put the baby seat in and got the last few things for my hospital bag so all ready just need a baby now!! - am counting down to induction which will be about 19/20 days time as not convinced that baby will come before.

    Evening CD, how are things?

What kind of car did you get?  So exciting :)  Hopefully it won't be too long till baby makes an appearance!

I've had a not bad day but feeling really tired now, so think I'll have an early night.  We're getting a new bathroom and new kitchen fitted at the moment, it was one problem after another the last day or two but I'm hopeful that everything that could go wrong has gone wrong already and they are now going to be on track!  got plans for staying with my mum at the weekend so we're out the way when they finish doing what they're doing in here.  Looking forward to it being done so we can get on to decorating the nursery and getting organised!

Won't do personals, too late in the evening I don't think anyone will read them....but welcome to Madonna, glad to see you over here, and baby out vibes to those who would like them xx

    Hi cwilson,

think you are sensible staying out of the way this weekend and you can get your mum to pamper you a bit. The kitchen and bathroom are the only things we didn't do when we did our house this year so am very jealous (they are next year's job which I am sure will be a nightmare with a baby!)

What are your plans for the nursery? Have you chosen a colour/theme?

We bought a focus c-max. We were debating whether to changes car and then I had a bad accident in the snow and wrote my car off so decision was easy!

I am not too bothered about baby not being here yet - I have always assumed it was going to be late so would have been shocked if it had arrived early!!
