anyone given calpol to those under 3months? - my LO is 11 weeks tomorrow (so just under 3m) and seen the doc and hes running a temp so doc has advised to give 2.5ml calpol up to 3 times a day - just wondered if anyone else has given meds to those under 3m?

    thanks

I haven't because I didn't need to, but if the Doctor recommended it and my LO was running a temp I'm pretty sure I would.

    Hope he's better soon Xxxx

You can give calpol from 2months and we did when L had his injections. The bottle says one dosage of 2.5ml and a top up of 2.5ml at least four hyours later if needed. We didn't as we thought one dosage was enough.

If your GP has advised the above and you are happy to then go with that dosage but I'd stick with one dosage of 2.5ml and see how the baby is.

G had it at his jabs too.  We gave the single 2.5ml dose but if doc has advised that you can repeat the dose and you need to, I'd go with that.  Hope he's better soon, it's rubbish when they're so small and poorly.

Yes we did on advise from A&E when G was very poorly at 8 wks, we stuck to recommended dose. To control a temp, I would do as suggested by a Dr.

Hope your LO is better soon.

That sounds reasonable. It can be given from 2 months without prescription, but could potentially be given to younger ones when needed if a doctor has prescribed it. I think the calpol instructions say 2.5ml twice a day (but I could be wrong). However, an 11 week old baby is bigger than an 8 week old baby and I think by 3 months they can have it 4 times a day. As the doc has seen your LO, I would stick with what they recommend.
