    For their 30th birthday...?

It's today and she's being a moody moo.  She's also 7 months pregnant...

She's not a girlie girl and so everything i'm thinking of is probably not right.  Just looking for inspiration!

So far i've ruled out - jewellry, spa treatments, tea at the Ritz...

Is she a drinker (pregnancy aside, obv!)?

If so, a quality bottle of wine, 30 y.o. port or a better version of her favourite tipple, maybe?   It'll give her something to look forward to once she's had the baby.

I made my mum a 'foodie hamper' for mother's day. I went to my local deli and the Selfridges foodhall and bought load of yummy things (lobster pate, tarragon oil, handmade chocs, etc) and packaged it all up for her. Like an extravagant mini picnic.

How about a digital photo frame?  or even just vouchers for her favourite shop, or if she's not a girly girl how about an experience voucher like quad biking or something?x

A statement item of clothing or shoes? A hotel voucher for a night away with her OH before baby arrives? A tattoo? A photo book with photos of you guys through the years? Something for her home?

  • Re: O/T - What would you get your best mate...

I would make her an IOU voucher when she has had the baby for a weekend away doing whatever she wants to do.  It may be a takeaway and some films and a bottle of wine but whatever she is up to.  I'd give her a deadline to use it by so she does it while she's still 30 and after sprog so she can relax more.  Send flowers for now!

Hmmm - flowers! I missed a trick there.

Am now thinking of a massge for after she's had the baby - a bit of relaxation.  She's not a massive girlie girlie but I think she likes massages  Smile  And Auntie GB can look after sprog while she's having it done and then we can have lunch or something maybe...

Sounds good! How can you forget the obvious thing of flowers!?  I bet you'll love sprog sitting time :D

all the above sound good, i also like giving tickets to things as presents (theatre, concert, show etc) as it's something to open on the day and something to look forward to as well. although if she's feeding baby herself she might not want to go far if its soon after the birth (my first night out was when my boy was 4 months old and i only went 20 mins away!)

the massage idea is good too but again you might have to book her a new mum one as i went for a spa day when i was still feeding and they wouldn't let me use certain oils just like when you're preggie xx
