Poppy has never had a bottle.  Ok, she has, but hasn't ever managed to successfully feed from one and we've given up trying!  However, once we can start using some sort of cup I am hoping we can get EBM in her via this now and then if needed. So, what cup would you recommend for an exclusively BF baby who doesn't get on with bottles (we tried Avent and MAM teats with no joy and then gave up as it could get expensive buying different bottles/teats to try).

we tried a tommy tippie cup this morning which we got free in a dental pack from the HV - whilst it wasn't an overly large sucess Sarah is interested in playing with it so hoping we'll get there with it eventually! I also have a cow cup by amadeus and she loved the black and white contrast so hoping her interest in that might help and I have also got a doidy cup but with no lid I think we'll both end up VERY wet if we try that now although it says 3+months on it!

Thanks!  I have several of the Tommy Tippee ones from Jack - he still loves them now as they are free-flow!  It's amazing how wet he can get himself if I turn my back for a second!  I'm keeping my eye on your post about getting a BF baby to take milk from a cup - saves me posting on the topic!

http://www.tommeetippee.co.uk/product/ explora_first_sips_4m_pink_/ This is the one we have got for O (I think she is a day older than Poppy) and although she tries to chew it she has managed to take about 4 oz from it!

I'll check that out too if we have no joy with the Tommy Tippee ones we have.  Do you think I could try her with the Tommy Tippee ones now?  Or is she too young?  (You wouldn't think it was my 2nd?!)

You can only try - as I said Olivia is only a day older and we used the cup last week with her.

Sprry to barge in, what age should you start them with cups? Ben is just over 4 months

I think anytime from 4 months if you want - a lot of them are called weaning cups so I guess they are used to introduce water - maybe?
