  • church wedding - modern music to walk down the aisle

hi, im getting married in august and getting stressed out trying to choose music, i am getting married in church but dont want the traditional wedding march as this isnt me at all, is it the done thing to have modern music to walk down, my idea is to walk down the aisle to Ronan Keating ' This i Promise you ' and to walk out of the church Shania Twain ' forever and always ', also havent had any rehearsals yet so not even sure how long in minutes each piece of music should be, any help or comments would be much appreciated.

We're doing the same but we're having instrumental versions of the music on a cd. We asked the vicar about this and he was fine and will control the cd etc. I'm walking in to Iris by the googoo dolls and we're leving to Mr Brightside by the killers.  It was being played everywhere when we got together, although the words obv aren't appropriate, instrumentally it works well Smile

I would talk to your vicar about it as he will know how he wants songs arranged and how long he would expect you to take to walk down the aisle

I am having a church wedding and am hoping to have this modern piano version of the bridal march by Jonathan Cain. I wanted a bridal march but don't like the organ version and this was just perfect - made my mother cry!!!

http://www.jonathancain.com/   The link is on the right hand side of the page, you can download it for free.

I have also found a piece of music called "River Flows in You" by Yiruma - it's really beautiful. (Can't link to youtube at work but if you type that in you'll find it!)

Still need to speak to the vicar though as not sure if we can have any old cd music - depends on public music licences. I may get someone to play it live on the piano/keyboard if I can find the sheet music.

I'm going to put it on my ipod and visit the church to time walking down the aisle!!!

    Hi

We're currently choreographing a routine where the bride and seven of the wedding party enter the church and dance up the aisle to 'I Gotta Feeling' by the Black Eyed Peas. I guess anything goes, these days!

You probably won't need the whole song to walk up the aisle to, so it may be worth editing the track to the right length. That way, you will hear the bit you want to, ie. the chorus. I suggest timing your walk up the aisle and getting onto your DJ, I'm sure they'd be happy to help out.

    Good luck!
