    Hello all,

    This is my 1st post.

My fiance and I are going to visit a few potential wedding venues around Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire over the coming weeks.  Looking on the internet, one place that has stood out is Breadsall Priory near Derby.

Has anyone visited here, been to a wedding, or even had their wedding here?  If so, what do you think of this location?

    Thanks for any helpful comments,

    James

    hi

cant comment about breadsall priory as not been but live nearby! i can recommend horsley lodge which is close by. we are getting married there in august and we have found them to be excellent. the customer service we have recieved so far is second to none and the grounds fantastic, will get some real great photos from there. good thing also is that they are reasonably priced. hope thats been some help!!

We've been there for a wedding in November last year, the gardens are beautiful but we couldn't make the most of them due to the fading light at that time of year. The wedding party had their welcome drinks in the reception/lobby which was a little cramped for mingling & then went onto another building [a 5 minute walk through the hotel, longer for the elderly members of the party] There was another wedding there that day, this was in a room close to reception and there was a little confusion as to where our guests should go when they saw another wedding party. The room where our wedding breakfast was taking place was spacious and seemed very well set up. The staff seemed great, the co-ordinator was on the ball and the couple's day went without a hitch.

One of my relatives had their reception there about 18 months ago and it was a lovely, one of the nicest weddings I have been to in a long time and the grounds are beautiful too, the only thing that was  a little odd was for the evening do it was split between two relatively small rooms so the party was quite seperated, some people might like that tho as there is one room with music and dancing and another quiter room

Hi there and a warm welcome to Hitched.  We've filmed a wedding a Breadsall Priory, the Hall and gardens are beatutiful we have some footage on our website.    It's a lovely venue - good for pictures inside and out.  They're having a wedding fayre there on Sunday 9 May 2010.  One thing I will advise on Breadsall Priory is that it's not exclusively yours for the day, they an hold more than one wedding but to be honest the wedding we filmed we never came across any guests from the other wedding being held there that day!  The organisers are pretty good.  Have you looked at Eastwood Hall at all?

Thanks to everyone who has contributed their thoughts and opinions about Breadsall.

We have looked at other venues, Cockliffe Hotel, Lakeside, Ringwood, Clumber Park, but Breadsall is the winner at the moment.

Because of the size of our wedding party we would have the wedding/breakfast/evening in the old part of the hotel.

The surrounding area is fantastic and the building is beautiful.  Fingers crossed the weather will hold out with we propose to have the wedding at the end of August 2011.

Can anyone recommend any good suppliers (photographers, flowers, cakes, dress, suits, etc) that would be brilliant!

    Cheers.

Hi again, I can highly recommend Purvis-Gisborne - www.purvis-gisborne.co.uk  who are just brilliant photographers who we've worked with on a wedding at Hassop Hall and their work is amazing.
