Having got to the age of 33 with no fillings the denist said i have to have 2 when i went for my check up lat week Sad

He said i could have both done in one appt or in 2 appts - they are on opposite sides of my mouth so at the time i said 2 seperate appts but am now wondering if it would be better to get them over and done with.

Opinions on 1 appt or 2 please! oh and does it hurt?!

    TIA xx

Personally I would get them done in the one appointment. I find the injections sore, but to be honest it is more pressure than anything else. Once the injection does its stuff you dont feel anything - prepare to look like a drooling mess after though Laugh Fillings at the sides are fine but I had to get a chip repaired at the front and it is alot more painful. Don't worry too much about it - it hurts but really isn't that bad.

i was going to go with 2 appointments actually.  I don't think i could cope with being numb on both sides at the same time.

thats what i was thinking - if they were the same side i'd defo just have them done at same time.

Are they top or bottom?  We were taught not to numb people up on both sides at the bottom as it's an uncomfortable sensation for the patient as their tongue would be completely numb. Some dentists do though.

Otherwise it's totally up to you, might be best to get them over and done with like you say. They're probably only little ones if you've not had any before, the only painful bit should be a slight scratch as you're numbed up. After that you might feel some rumbling from the drills but no pain. xx

I'd get them over and done with in one hit. rather a pertinent question for me as I'm off to have a filling done in half an hour! Sad  Was supposed to have two done at once a few weeks ago but D was with me and he screamed so much I had to leave with a numb face and only one filling done... Sx
