When can I start taking raspberry leaf tea? Im 34+2- also has it helped those of you who have taken it?

    Cheers

  • Re: Raspberry Leaf Tea...

There is a page on the wiki about it which is helpful.

I started taking the capsules at 37 weeks and up the does gradually.

whether it helped or not i have no idea as i don't know how things would have been had i not taken them!

I think I started at about 35 weeks, with just one cup a day.

I didn't really take it seriously with number1, just a cup here and there, then ran out of it... My labour was induced at 40+9, I had an ok labour, she was born after 40 minutes of pushing.

2nd time round I did stick with it, I had a quick labour, (3.5cm at 11.30pm, Matthew born at 1.25am, at 40+2) and he was born in 2 pushes.

I know 2nd labours are generally quicker though.

I drank the tea and had the tablets.  M was born at 41 weeks after a 27 hour and an emergency c-section. so I'm not at all convinced.

Having said that, I'll probably be doing it all over again with this one, 'just in case' Laugh

lol...theres always that "just in case"..I think its just the idea of doing something- this whole letting nature take its course thing involves patience and me relaxing...neither of which are in my skill set.

I have an unopened box of RL teabags if you want to try them. I had strong BHs throughout my pregnancy so didn't want to use them and in the end A arrived before her DD and labour was pretty quick (well much quicker than I had expected!). Happy to post them to you.

I'm popping out now but will check in with this later.

I had the tea first time and if it was meant to have sped up my labour gok how long it would have been! Laugh

I think it's a bit like anything with labour/pregnancy though - if you like the tea anyway it doesnt hurt to try it but dont expect miracles. I didnt mind the taste so it wasnt a hardship to have them.
