    morning Hannah

I've just snuck on whilst Eleanor is devouring a banana!

typically today i had to wake her up as well at 7.15 otherwise today would have gone completely wrong - why can't she do this on a weekend?

So today it's all about me again as she's at the childminders.  I'm hopefully meeting a friend this afternoon providing Mothercare aren't delivering Eleanors bed today.  I need to phone and find out.

baby is fine here definitely using all available space and doing tumbles now which wake me up at night.

    sparkling 30+2

hannah - hope your knee heels quickly and have a great time at crufts.

    Hi to everyone else !

  • Re: ***Monday 3rd Tri***

    Morning everyone

Hannah hope you have a more relaxing week than your weekend was, enjoy the short week at work

Sparkling, have a nice day with your feet up once Eleanor has been despatched to childminder.  Hope her bed arrives at a nice time to let you get on with your day

AFM, had a great sleep last night, baby seems quite happy certainly lots of wriggling around going on, I think more wriggling than kicking.  I'm sitting all ready to go to work but we've got more deliveries today, the new bathroom suite this time, got a delivery slot of between 7.30am and 11am, so I'm here for the first while then hubby is coming back from work to take over.

Got a question ladies - TMI alert - when I'm peeing I'm only peeing a tiny amount - a dribble!  Even first thing in the morning or on my night time visits (I was only up at the loo once last night about 5am and it was the same then).  I think I've maybe got a urine infection, was going to phone midwife to take in a sample to be tested but I can't pee enough to get a sample Embarrassed I'm currently making my way through my second glass of water this morning to see if that helps (although I think I have been drinking plenty), but anyone got any experience?  Is it just baby sitting on my bladder?

On that note - hope no one was eating their breakfast reading this Laugh - I'm going to finish the dishes before H gets back.  Hope everyone on later is having a good day, baby out vibes to those who want them

    Claire x

  • Re: ***Monday 3rd Tri***

sounds like an infection to me!  keep drinking the water avoid tea and coffee.  Cranberry juice also helps.

Defo try for a sample and get it to your GP.  I hope it clears up soon.

  • Re: ***Monday 3rd Tri***

    Morning ladies,

Hannah - sorry you fell and hurt yourself but glad that baby is kicking away for some reassurance. I've done it in both pregnancies now on the street and cut my knee, like you said it's embarassing and also the shock of it has made me burst into tears both times.

Sparkling - hope you get out this afternoon and your 'me day', make the most of them before you dont have a moment to yourself soon!

cwilson - does it hurt when you pee? I have woken up before thinking I'm bursting to go and then there's been a disappointing trickle of nothing and it really winds me up! For the last few weeks I've been like that and debate whether to even go sometimes, it's only been the last 2 nights that service has been resumed and I can go again! I do think it's mostly pressure but if there's any stinging go back and have a sample tested again or if your mw can see you do it anyway.

AFM - had a spoilt weekend as H was off for the whole weekend for once and he cooked and tidied and generally did everything. We did some shopping on Sat and he got me lots of lovely bath goodies and oil etc for massage. It makes such a difference him being here. 2 weeks to go and he'll be home with me anyway!!!!

Had some anxieties last night about all this visiting business as it seemed to kick off again and I end up getting so frustrated. It bought back some horrible memories of people randomly turning up when T was born and I could remember all the niggly conversations that annoy me still today, for example my aunt and uncle saying to me at the hospital that they hadnt told my cousin who is 3 years older than me about the baby because 'it would upset her to much'. Arghhh!!

    Anywho, not long to go!

Morning all, again, the sun is shining, so life is good!

Hannah - That's the best kind of busy, the shopping kind! Laugh. Sounds like you've got lots to look forward to this week (once work is out of the way of course!)

Sparkling - Enjoy your Eleanor free day and I hope you have a lovely time meeting up with your friend.

CW - I would think it's an infection, if you were about the pop I'd say it could just be baby on bladder, but he/she isn't big enough yet. Don't worry about not getting enough for a sample, this only need a teeny amount for dipping the stick in, or you can just wee straight on it to be tested. I second Sparkling on the cranberry juice, if you do have an infection that'll help to flush it through.

And me - Well, I am off to take M to my tots group in a bit, although I have the unsavoury task of getting a telling off from welfare/fire marshalls about the fire alarm that got set off at our party on Friday evening, that'll be fun! Although they will take pity on me and my huge belly I expect. This afternoon Maddie is getting her fringe cut, we're going for a milkshake and then to the park to enjoy the sunshine and feed the ducks.

Baby wise, all is fine, the tightenings/contractions are back. My coccyx is really tender too, so it's making moving around difficult, but he's so low that at least I can breathe again and the heartburn has worn off, so silver lining and all that....

Hi to all laters and lurkers, baby out vibes to all those in need (pebbles, DS especially). Have a lovely day everyone.

Pip - Wave missed you there...

Your weekend sounds fab, being looked after a good'un, well done your H.

I hope you get a clearer head on the visiting lark. In your case I would be inclined to say no-one is coming and then see how you feel when she is born, and you can invite up whoever you wish to see, and only those that are going to make you feel good and not say insensitive things. Smile

    xx

  • Re: ***Monday 3rd Tri***

Thanks aims, hope the contractions come to something and that you dont get told off too much!!!

Now how's this for my ice craving becoming worse...? I'm sat here with a glass full of crushed ice (after putting ice cubes in a bag and bashing it with the rolling pin) and eating it with a spoon! Laugh

Have you got room for another one? Big Smile  I can't believe I'm ready to move over here, I still don't think I've really accepted that this BFP is a sticky one Laugh

Hannah - hope your knee feels better soon and that you got some tlc to make up for it

Sparkling - glad to hear that the little one is nice and active.  Hope Eleanor likes her new bed, whenever it comes.

cwilson77 - ooh, new bathroom suite, there's nothing like being the first person to have a bath in a shiny new one.

Pip - I know exactly what you mean about having someone around, it makes even the hardest days seem better.  What's the 'visiting business'?  Being over on the 2nd tri thread I guess I must have missed this.  Don't let people upset you though - this is yours and your H's special time and if anybody doesn't want to play by your rules then they can go jump!

AFM - I'd like my first post over here to be a happy, cheerful one but I'm in pain so it won't be Laugh  My spine hurts and my SPD is getting worse.  I'm seeing the mw on Wednesday but I doubt there's anything more she can do.  We ordered some bits for the nursery yesterday but I am a bit worried that we've not even emptied the room that's going to be the nursery yet.  OH has been away with work so much and the whole house has needed work on it so it's just not got done yet and I'm starting to fret!

  • Re: ***Monday 3rd Tri***

pip - so with you on the visiting thing.  I'm just not sure I want any visitors other than H at all in hospital.  I find visitors really stressful particularly those like my BIL and SIL who just don't know when it's time to leave.  My parents are doing my head in too.  The only member of family that knows my section date is the MIL as she's looking after Eleanor for us.  I'm also debating whether i'll be begging to leave after 3 days this time or begging to stay in because at least the midwives can control my visitors for me if i brief them in advance.

aims - i hope the tightenings/ contractions come to something soon and the haircut isn't too traumatic this afternoon.

    purple pixie - welcome!

  • Re: ***Monday 3rd Tri***

Purple Pixie Wave, lovely to see you over here! Sorry you're in pain but woo hoo for being here. Our nursery isnt done either but we figure she isnt going in there for a good few months anyway.

The visiting thing is just generally people not asking when they can come and saying they are just coming on the day of my section - to the point I've had to lie to half of my family and tell them the wrong date. I know it's trivial stuff but our experience before wasnt nice and people there all day, we didnt get a moment to ourselves with T and I really regret that. My nan is the main culprit and pretty much takes over and bullies to get what she wants. I just want a nice calm time and our little family for a bit.

    Good morning

Hannah - ouch! your poor knee.  Arnica cream is good at helping grazes and bruises heal, we use it all the time with Izzy.  I hope you have a nice time at Crufts.

Sparkling - enjoy your day.  Izzy is similar and we seem to have to wake her during the week but at the weekend she's up early.  Sunday she was up at 6.15 and then today H had to wake her at 7.30.

cwilson - it sounds like an infection, as everyone else said lots of water and cranberry juice.  I suffered terribly in the 1st trimester.

Pip - I bet it was lovely to have your H around.  On the visiting front I think you have to be straight with people and tell them when they can come and for how long.  If you aren't happy having visiitors for the first few weeks they should respect this but in my experience you will have to spell it out to people to avoid resentment on both sides.

aims - I hope you don't get too bad a telling off.  Milkshake and feeding the ducks later sounds lovely.

Purple pixie - welcome.  Poor you with SPD.  I had some starting and saw the physio about a month ago.  She did lots of manipulating of my hips as apparantely one was much lower than the other and gave me a support belt.  It has been a hundred times better since then.  What treatment are you having?

AFM - PIL's annoyed me yesterday over the baby bath (posted about it yesterday) but I think I'm being a bit hormonal about it rather than being rational.  MIL/H have annoyed me today as MIL let slip that she is freecycling the garden lights H gave her to take to the tip yesterday.  I wish H had asked before he got rid of them as one of my sisters is after something similar for her garden.  I think I just need to let is wash over me as it's really not important.

Had a very productive day yesterday and did 8 loads of baby washing!  That included bedding but I definitely don't need any more baby clothes (it was newborn, 0-3 and 3-6 months plus about a load of larger clothes).  It's a combination of neutrals from last time, borrwed neutrals and second hand new. Izzy and I also made a chocolate cake, we went to sainsburys, halfords, boots, mothercare and the pet shop plus we potted up the flowers in the planters I have bought for mothers day.  So all in all a very productive day.

    Hello everyone

Hannah – have a good time at crufts on Thursday. Hope your knee isn’t too bad.

Sparkling- Hope you manage to get out today.

C Wilson –Sounds like an infection to me. I would try and see your doc or midwife asap to get it checked.

Pip – sounds like you had a great weekend. I have said only parents and siblings to visit as there would prob be so many. you can always change your mind at the time.

Aims- Not long to go! Hope you enjoy this afternoon.

Purple Pixie- Hello!!! Don’t worry too much about the nursery. You’ve got plenty of time.

Hope you manage to get something more to help with your SPD.

Angeldust- That’s a very busy day yesterday! I’ve managed to ash all our clothes and we seem to have a lot! Didn’t realise we had bought so much.

Not even picked the computer up for 3 days i've been so busy!

    .

AFM - been really busy the past few days. Helped my auntie do the favours and order of service for a wedding on friday. Cleaned all day Saturday and had a trip to trafford centre yesterday.

Ended up having a bit of a scare on Saturday. Went out to pick up some bits and fell up some stairs outside. I've bruises all up my legs but bump only got banged a little as i managed to put my hands down. He's been moving round lots even though there isn’t much room so he must be ok. My mum is back from egypt tomorrow so i'll be starting operation baby out!!!!!!

Baby Out vibes for everyone that needs them.

Sorry aims, I missed you.  Sounds like you've got a lovely afternoon planned, hope the pain stays away so that you can make the most of it.

Pip - Have you got a date for your section then?  That's very rudely presumptious of them.  Is your H strong enough to stand up to them?  You more than deserve a bit of time just the three of you and you may well need a bit of time to yourself aswell before the crowds descend.  To be honest, I'm a bit worried about that as well.  There was an advantage to being single when I had Matt - no in-laws Laugh

Angeldust - I've got a support belt and I'm on paracetamol and codeine.  I've got a problem with my spine (a couple of the verterbrae are crumbling) which is causing a lot of pain and problems so the SPD on top of that has just about finished me off.  At least I've managed to get into work today but I don't know how much longer I'll manage it for.  When are you due? (sorry, new to the thread and need to catch up with all the info!)

  • Re: ***Monday 3rd Tri***

Angeldust it's funny how things can wind us up right now! Wow, 8 load of washing, verry impressive!!! I can just about manage one in a day now lol

Lea - what are we like for falling over? I'm sure as well as pregnancy brain comes the inability to co-ordinate! Glad he's moving about lots and tomorrow sending some baby out vibes!

PP - yes, my section is booked for 23rd Bounce (sorry!), my nan's attitude when my mum told her that I had asked for special permission for my mum to be in the waiting room only was "well, I dont care, I'm coming anyway"
