how much am i looking at to get my little cat spayed and injections? does he need to have an injection against leukemia as well or just the usual cat flu and feline enteritus. this affects the price by wuite a bit you see, if its necessary and worthwhile then il do it, but i dont want to be ripped off by a vet either.

my cat needs to go in a cattery when i go on hol in may so need to make sure his all upto date. also can he have this all done in 1 go? or will he need to be spayed and injected another time. xx

i have absolutely nooooooooooooooo idea i'm afraid.  Our cattery spayed ours and got his injections up to date before we could take him home. I'd fone the cattery you're taking him to.

Interestingly though, Hubbys decided he wants to go on holiday this year (despite the recent diagnosis of my allergy to sun and sunscreen and the fact we had our honeymoon only last summer) and I'm pathetically worried about what to do with Oskar.  If we take him up to the cattery will he think we are dumping him there like he was dumped before???? it would only be for a week but I dont want to traumatise him!  The cattery is practically 'next door' to us so I dont want him confused etc etc....   I did think a nights stay might be plan so he can get used to the idea and see us come back for him....

im not 100% comfortable leaving my baby in a cattery either, but at the same point what choice do i have? theres nobody who can house sit for me to look after him, so i have no choice. im looking at a fairly nice family owned 1. i just hope when he get back he doesnt hate me x

I had my cats done against everything, but I remember one of our cats when I was younger having leukemia so I guess thats why. When you book in for your cat to be netered it will have to have a pre-op check and they will probaly give the first injection then , thats what they did with mine. Then you go back in 3 weeks for the next one, and they can go out a week later. The injections cost me about £90 (times 3!!) the girls to be done was about £80 and for the boy to be neutered it was cheaper, about £60.

Have a look if there are any cat charity's around you, they can give you vouchers to use at the vets and you can get up to half price off. I would get him done for leukemia aswell, if you didnt and he got it you would feel guilty.

I sound like a crazy cat woman now don't I?? lol

We paid £18 for injections and were told because they're indoor cats the leukemia jab wasn't nessacary.

I begged the vet for the leukemia jab because my brother lost one of his indoor cats too it. But the vet was adament we didn't need it.

I think we were £65 for our female to be spayed and £60 for our male cat to be neutered.

at the practice i work at it cost £50 for a cat spay and you have a Post op check 2 days later when we will do the 1st injection (to make sure if they react badly to anything we can tell if its something in the op or the vaccination)  then 3 weeks after that they will have the 2nd vacc. We autmatically include luk in ours and only don't give it if the owner requests. We charge £22.22 for each vacination and you only have the 2
