not sure which day my milk came in but my son was exclusively breastfed from the start and he weighed 9 lb 1 so don't worry about bigger babies being hungrier, you should be fine! the midwives were great, really helpful and tried to help me latch him on at every feed (didn't work that well for me - i was in agony for about 3 months but he was fine)

much better than first time where my son was on bottle by day 2!

    good luck!

I've had two sections. My milk came in on about day 5 the first time and day 3 the second. My first had formula in the delivery suite as I was too weak to feed her myself and the Paed wanted her to be fed straight way as there were complications during the birth. After that though she was BF and I fed her until she was 6 months. My second just had colostrum and was fine.

I had an EMCS after labouring (8 days overdue) and baby was fine with colostrum until my milk came in at about 4 days. I had good BFing support in hospital and was able to hand express some colostrum to cupfeed to my son as he wasn't that interested in feeding. This gave him the energy he needed to have a proper feed (well that's how I saw it!). No-one suggested supplementing with formula to me though the hospital (Whittington) were very pro BFing. I think it's important to have help and support in feeding as it can be quite difficult to get comfortable and into a good feeding position taking account of the wound.
