  • Older babies (1yr +) who are still on formula

Because of Zoe's issues with cows milk she is still having formula during the day.  She has it in a cup and has 2 x 4oz and then 8oz at bedtime.

During the day, do you still stick to the 2 hour rule or do you leave it a bit longer ?  If she was having cows milk I wouldn't throw it away after 2 hours so was wondering whether it's really necessary with the formula.

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?

My daughter is 2 and still on formula due to cows milk issues.  We do still abide by the 2 hour rule, not sure why but I guess it is something we have always done and is just routine now.

    What's the 2 hour rule??

The formula is to be discarded if it is not used/drunk within 2 hours (out of the fridge).

Ahh! Yes, pretty much, although I've wavered when needs must, but then I think I'd do the same with cows milk.

Fred will be 3 in June & still has formula (CMPI)

Tends to be bedtime only, but sometimes he asks for a morning bottle or even after pre-school.

If it's not drank within 30mins, Neocate does go manky.

the high calorie formula stuff Eleanor drinks is okay for about 6 hours then sets hard - grim stuff....

so no i don't go with the 2hour rule any more.

Um, no. D starts a bottle at bedtime (7pm) and often doesn't finish it, but will wake for the rest at 11pm or later and I still give it to him. That's made fresh at bedtime though, not from the fridge (chilled milk makes him sick).

I'm ashamed to say he still demolishes a bottle overnight, so that gets made at around 11pm and he will snack during the night on it.

That's Nutramigen 2, which is pretty rank to start with!

I wanted to go out and change the world but I couldn't find a babysitter.
