just a few questions on ttc!

Hello

how long did it take your periods to become normal after coming off the pill?  and how long did it take you to concieve when they was back to normal?

i only have a week left of my contraceptive pill and then we will be TTC, i got my folic acid today so i am all ready!

I came of the pill in August 2007 and it took 6 weeks for my first AF. I got a BFP in October 2007 so it only took 2 cycles. Sadly that ended in m/c. After that my AF was all over the place for a few months and I got a second BFP in March 2009, a further 13 months from the m/c although we weren't TTC again until about the May of 2008.

I do think stress played a large part in the longer time period to the 2nd BFP though.

I came off the pill on 18th Aug 2009 and AF arrived 4 weeks later on the nose.

My first cycle was then 30 days and then I got pregnant in my second cycle. I knew I'd ov'd as was using ov predictor sticks from Clearblue so we just made sure we DTD every other day and then every day when I thought I was due to ovulate.

I came of the pill last September. I finished my pill packet and period came a few weeks later at the usual time (as if being on the pill). They have continued to be regular 28 day cycles pretty much since then. Not pregnant yet but we have only just started tyring last month.

I came off the pill in July 08, period came 4 weeks later. periods were regular to start with but for some reason became a little irregular, between 27 - 35 days. Got my BFP last week after a year and a half of trying.

is it best to finish the pill packet or would it be ok to finish now! i cant wait i want to get trying!

My first period was 60 days after stopping the pill, although I would say that my cycle returned to 'normal' (in length at least) about a year after I stopped.

It took me 13 months to conceive.

Good luck with the ttc, hope to see your BFP soon. I'm not sure on whether you would need to finish the packet or not, sorry.

I stopped taking my pill in the middle of last month - I waited until my pack was finished in the hope that it might make things easier to keep track of! Plus, I want to take some time out to get my cycles back to normal before TTC, especially as I've been on the pill so long - haven't a clue what my cycles will be like! Am still waiting for AF to arrive but I really hope they'll be more regular than the pre-pill days.
