  • Pressie for hubbie

    Hiya,

Am thinking about what to get for my hubbie 2 b for his wedding present - does anyone have any ideas?  I thought about an expensive watch but the one he wants is about £2.5k so can't afford that.  Am thinking about a budget of around £750-£1k.  Did think I could take him to see the Formula One at Silverstone but am after other ideas.

    Thanks!

Hmmmm a tough one! I was also thinking of a Tag Heur which is about £850....I said we could try it on when we go to try wedding rings to see what he thinks as he wants to buy one for himself. Little does he know!

What about a track day, trip somewhere, a nice but cheaper watch, an 'experience' of some description, a day out and buy him something whilst there?

Good luck! At least you have a big budget so there should be lots of options!

A 'respectable' married lady since 08/05/2010!

I cannot really help as we went to the Formula 1 at Silverstone for his wedding present.

The other thing I thought about getting him was a pocket watch with an engraving on it but thought it would never get used again.

Is there anything on Honeymoon that he fancies doing which you could arrange for him as a surprise?

Yeah, I like the idea of something on honeymoon.  We're going to Thailand and he's always wanted to swim with dolphins so may look into that further.

Am thinking I could do Silverstone plus an actual present but it's the present part I'm struggling with.  The Silverstone tickets will be about £350.00 for us both which isn't too bad and still leaves me with £400-£650 to buy something.  Obviously if I can spend less it's a bonus but want to buy him something he can keep and it be something he'll treasure, but he's a minimalist and hates clutter so ornament type things won't work!

    Thanks

Don't know what to suggest as men are so difficult to buy for other than watches.

Have to say Silverstone was the best thing I could have given my husband. I paid the extra for the Grandstand Seats on the pits straight. It was such a great weekend and one he still talks about 9 years on.

Have you thought about getting his wedding ring engraved?

oooohhhh, that's a lovely idea!!  Why didn't I think of that!  Cheaper than an expensive gift and he'll have it with him everyday :-)  I love it!!!  Thanks soooooooo much.

Will definitely book Silverstone then and get the ring engraved  - what would you put as wording?  Just !I love you" or can you think of something more meaningful (not that it's not but you know what I mean :-) )

  • Re: Pressie for hubbie

You could have (taken from the internet)

    I Love You

Your initials with the date of the wedding

    Your Forever

    Till death do us part

I found love, & love was you

    The beginning of forever

Some others on this site http://www.e-weddingbands.com/store/engravefav.html

I just came across this on a website and it made me giggle.

That's hilarious - I love it and think he would see the funny side but I'm a romantic really so like "I found love, & love was you" but just having a look at that link.

Silverstone tickets just booked YIPPEE!!  Now just to prep mil & friends to make sure he doesn't  go planning anything else that weekend (not that he would if the F1 was on the tele lol)

    Thanks girls

Awww, that's lovely - where did you get that from?  I know it's a lot but I wanted to make sure my budget would cover whatever I felt was right for him.  As said before, it'd be good not to spend that much but that was the absolute max if I was going to get him an expensive watch or something for example :-)
