    Hi All,

I am due to get married at the end of this year (between September - November 2010) and am looking for a free wedding photographer (maybe a photographer looking to boost their portfolio).

We are currently looking at venues in London and one in Chester.

    Please contact me at: c.carter225@btinternet.com

As you can all tell this is my first web forum discussion. No need to be rude or sarcastic.

    Welcome to you all.

Surely you would not approach a group of people whom you have never met and ask about a free photographer without introducing yourself and asking how they are? It is simply good manners especially on a forum.

Anyway welcome to the Forum, if you do stick around perhaps tell us a little more about your wedding etc

I do think it is rude on a wedding forum which mainly contains brides organising their own weddings.  I also think it is rude when you blatantly want us to help you find a free photographer but it would appear you are not interested about giving back to the forum, and that is what this place is all about.

If you are looking for a free photographer perhaps you are best emailing all the photographers in the area you are looking at or perhaps posting on a photography forum where you may get more help.

    Hi Funky Diva,

As I say I have never been on a forum before, looking around I have seen that people have asked for different things so thought I would do the same.

Don't ask you don't get right.

Not much to say, I am due to get married but am at the begining of my search as we have done NOTHING.

Hi CCB welcome to the forum - a good intro as to who you are and when you're getting married usually finds you a good response.  If you want to source a free photographer you should check out local colleges/unis near the area of where you plan to get married to see if any photography students want to build up their portfolios.  You may get lucky with finding a semi-pro photographer who wants to extend their career into photography full time or those that don't have much experience of weddings.   They are out there so check out other wedding forums too besides Hitched as on here we have a strict advertising policy whereas other forums may not!  Talk weddings has a lot of freebie togs listed on there.  Good luck with your search.
