Following on from the changing bag thread... what did you do changing bag wise when you had a baby and a toddler?

I am thinking maybe a backpack might be easier so that I can keep my hands free, or maybe give T a little backpack of his own for his own things.

What did you do? Please recommend your changing bags for two.

I have a karrimor rucksack and put baby's bits in the front and toddler bits (drink, snacks) and my purse, phone etc in the back.  K is out of nappies but I still take a spare pair of trousers and knickers just in case and it works fine.  It's useful for slinging too.  It's also great for just dumping on the ground when the need arises.  My very expensive change bag for #1 got ruined by being slung around all the time!

K does have one of the LittleLife backpacks but when only used it when she was really little and never bothered putting anything it (bar a pack of raisins) but I have friends that use it to put in a nappy for the toddler.  Even if you end up carrying it, it does keep it separate IYSWIM

Thanks Noggin, good idea about using a 'normal' rucksack, I will go to millets I think and have a browse.

My original changing bag is trashed too and although it was good, it magnet-closed so you could grab things quickly and easily - very handy in first few months but useless now as T will be in it grabbing everything out too.  I definitely need zips.  At the moment I have a £7 bag from tesco which does the job well, but I fancy something with 3 separate pockets - one for baby, one for T, one for me I think Big Smile

I have a samsonite sammie ladybird backpack- actually I have two! One big and one small.  We use the small one if we're out for an afternoon and the big one for all day.  I fit loads in the small one though - nappies, wipes, spare sleepsuit, spare trackie bottoms, spare pants, spare top for me,spare bra for me, travel toilet seat and purse and phone!  I fit all the above but more than one or two nappies and food and drink in the big one.  B can carry the little bag if needs be, but I usually take it.
