    Wave

We really want to use 'real nappies' once the baby is here and some kind of normality has resumed (hmm, I am in denial ROTFL.

Our local council have given us a £45 voucher towards the cost of reusables, but they have to be used with certain retailers.  I went to a shop to look at some different brands today and they were recommending the Bambino Mio.  Does anyone have any comments on these, whether good/bad?

The voucher expires on 19 Feb so it's going to be best if I order some online.  I am thinking of this set to start with http://www.simply-baby.co.uk/shop/215/Bambino-Mio-Nappy-Set-Small.htm but also wondered if I need a nappy bucket and/or laundry bag?

    Help please!

I've known 3 people who tried the Bambino Mio nappies and didn't get on with them, but its like anything to do with babies what suits one person doesn't suit another.

I used Motherease one size with a motherease airflow wrap with Isaac, they were a totally brilliant birth to potty nappy. After Isaac they have gone to  be used by a good friend of mine and they are now back ready for the birth of this baby (how green and earth mother am I? Laugh

http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/ has a questionaire that you fill in and they will reccomend you a nappy system. It is no obligation so you could then go and use their reccomendation to get the nappies from the retailer you have to use.

Oh and I didn't bother with a proper nappy bucket. I just used a amall plastic bin with a lid that I found in Wilkinsons for about £1.99, I did have a laundry bag but I've lost it now as I never used it.

I *think* I still have a roll of flushable liners. if I do I will happily RAHK them to you because I use fleece liners.

    Thanks WW Thanks

I will fill in that questionnaire.  The Nappy Lady is actually one of the retailers that I can use as she is based in Lancashire too Smile

I haven't come across anyone who gets along well with Bambino Mio.  They were one of the first of the "new" cloth nappies but have really been superseded since then.

If I were you I'd buy a couple of different types to give them a try before committing to a bulk buy of one type,  in fact even know (at 12 months) we have a selection as as she grows and changes shape different ones seem to work better.

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?

Thanks Jelly Baby.  That's interesting r.e. Bambino Mios; the shop assistant was raving about them today but it's good to hear real life comments.

Buying a selection sounds like a good idea, thanks.

Hi, sorry for dragging up a reeeaaally old thread but i have been offered a bundle of Bambino mio nappies. I'm not sure whats in the bundle but the person said there are "some newborn but mainly full size".  I want to go the reusable route, but was wondering if its possible to mix&match different brands / the inner & outer wrap thingies?  (based on comments above i was thinking i could see what is in bundle & then buy additional bits in other brands etc ......)

you can mix & match wraps and nappies as long as they are the same type of 'system' ie bambio mio are prefolds, so you can use other prefolds with it.  I used Tots bots with Motherease wraps and they were great, altho I know there have been a lot of newer and thinner nappies coming out.  I also used Kushies I was given by a friend and they did well with my toddler, they are all in ones

i didn't use the bambino mios but I did have some Cotton bottoms which are the same prefold two piece system, and they didn't suit either baby as they were BF and the nappies just leaked all the time.  I found the tots bots good as they could be adjusted around the baby and then the wrap would cover them, rather than the wrap having to contain everything b /c both mine had skinny legs and the CB wraps just wouldn't wrap around well enough
