  • *** Sat TTC ***

    Evening all!

1stBaby - sorry forgot to answer your question yesterday, am originally from Suffolk.

I have had a bit of a lazy day really whilst H has been outside grafting hard on the house. We are in the process of getting a deck built and H has to finish off all the sanding, repairing the weatherbaords / windows and painting on the house before we can progress further with the deck. I do offer to help but he thinks I can't do it to his standard (he does have very high standards) so its all taking ages .......... the problem with having an entirely wooden house! I did however do a bit of prep for my course this week and prob gonna watch a movie this eve with H.

    Hope everyone is well.

    Morning everyone,

Sorry didnt get chance to answer last night I was reading from my mobile but cant reply on there.

I iive in Essex and my closeset sea front is southend. TBH its not very nice but I grew up here and I love it.

Also I am a call centre operative working for a housing association. I have always worked on the phones but this is the hardest job I have ever done as I have to try and balance understanding peoples situations with telling them no. We are only their landlord and they expect so much more from us.

Anyway hope everyone has a great weekend.

I am CD1 i believe as I started AF last night. Probably not gonna get to seafront now as it is pretty bad and I dont really wanna leave the house. I may be making myself a cocktail tonight though.

    Hello Ladies

Wondered if you had room for another little one on the TTC thread? I was a Hitched member what feels like years ago (probably about 7 years ago now) when I was engaged the first time. That wedding was cancelled and I have not Hitched since.

Fast forward to the present and I'm 31 and married my H almost 6 months ago (CANNOT believe it's been 6 months, feels like 6 weeks) and have been lurking on Babytalk for the last month or so.

I took my last pill on Thursday in the hope of TTC our first baby. OMG I am scared just typing that. Seriously, I find this all rather alarming ha ha.

I have been on the mini pill (which completely stopped my AF, except from the odd day of spotting now and then) for over 10 years so I have no idea when my AF will arrive. I am assuming it will take a while for it to return, which is whay I've come off it now.

So two stupid questions please girls, if you don't mind:

    • Should I be taking a pre-natal vitamin from now, or wait until my periods come back? If so, which one is best?
    • If any of you came off the pill, how quickly did you get your first AF and when did your periods return to normal?

I have been lurking on this thread on my iPhone (can anyone else not actually post from their phone, only read?) for the past couple of weeks to psyche myself up for coming off the pill - I have actually found it quite a bit deal, more of a big deal than I thought. But, I suppose when you have been unmarried and ultra careful with contraception for 15 years, it would be a bit weird.

Anyway, that's me. Babydust to you all - may your baby making be short but pleasurable xxx

    Hiya SB,

I can only lurk from my phone. Welcome to the thread from another newcomer. I have been on hitched for about 6 -7 years now from when I planned my wedding with H. I used to be on OT but I found it scary after a couple of years. I went cold turkey but have come back to the very welcoming arms of BT,

I am not sure about the vitamins I am taking pregnacare from tesco but I wasnt on the pill. I kinda envy you as since TTC our TMI sex life has changed as we have stopped using condoms and it feels so different.

My SIL stopped using the pill before TTC her baby and I think it took about 3-4 months to fall pregnant but dont know if her cycles were back to normal beforeheand.

Anyway good luck and babydust to you.

  • Re: *** Sat TTC ***

    Thanks BB.

Drat about only lurking from the phone, that's a pain.

Lol at your TMI sex life. People are on here talking about squirting strangers in the eyes with breast milk, it's totally fine. Ha ha.

    Pregnacare - roger that x

Hello Bellybee - sounds like you need a bit of patience for your job too. Well I suppose at least you know where you are now with AF. When you say its bad are you talking about AF or the weather ruining your trip to the seaside? Oooh more cocktails for you then ...mmmm wish I could join in.

Welcome  back to Hitched SB Wave  I think starting a family is a big decision (well for me anyway) and last year H was really keen but I just didn't feel ready but now I just want to asap! When I came off the pill AF just carried on regular as clockwork. I suppose if you are going to take a pre-natal vitamin I would start taking it now. Can't recommend any as not taking them, just taking the folic acid. Hope your journey isn't too long and the scariness subsides.

We are watching a really bizarre movie and think I might give up on it soon and go to bed.

  • Re: *** Sat TTC ***

Its the AF that is bad thats why i dont wanna go out bit of a bummer really because it is nice and bright here even if its not warm.  Yeah i do need to have to remember to be calm its quite difficult as i have to try and not be judgemental but when people are moaning about their rent for a 3 bed house that they dont even pay i sometimes have to bite my tounge. Just save it up and have a moan at home.

  • Re: *** Sat TTC ***

Afternoon everyone.  I'm on CD 5 today and my H goes away tomorrow for a month so that'll be us until March then!

My cycles average about 40 days, I'm assuming that the fertile time is somewhere in the middle of that - about days 18-22 maybe?

  • Re: *** Sat TTC ***

Thanks Diamonds, will just have a look as I'm not taking anything yet.

Hi SC Wave. Shame about your H going away, can you not go to wherever he is around your fertile time Laugh?  R.e. when you will ovulate, don't ask me I'm absolutely clueless so clarification from anyone would be appreciated.

Did I read somewhere that it's around 14 days before AF which would make it CD 22-26 for you? I don't know what I'm talking about though really, sure the other girls will know better x

    Good afternoon ladies.

I’m late to this thread today.Had to take my eldest son to ice skating lessons today so was up pretty early for that.I’ve also put L’s name down to start. She’s only 3 but hopefully she’ll quite like it.

Diamonds- Your house sounds lovely.Enjoy your evening .

Bellybee- Glad AF has started so at least you know where you are and can start again but it’s a shame you can’t get out.Your job does sound tough.I’m a real softie so would be no good.

Sexybexy- Wavewelcome to the ttc.I would start taking a prenatal vitamin now,I would presume all prenatal ones have folic acid in them.

.Its years since I was on the pill so I can’t remember how long my periods took to return.

I hope your stay here is a short one-good luck.

Smashed crab- Is it possible to meet up with H during that month?

Me- not a lot to report.Lazy afternoon.Managed to have a bit of a rest as I’m on nights tonight and tomorrow.

  • Re: *** Sat TTC ***

I am glad AF is here too as at least I know my body is working. Shame its such a horrid one. I feel like I have had real lazy day because I have spent most of it in my pyjamas but me and H have done all the housework so our flat is tidy again. We popped to the shops and bought one of those chinese dinner kits (lazy moo) and I have strawberry milkshake which I am pretty sure should be free on prescription during AF.

I have had quite a constructive afternoon, I have planned my whole weeks menus (WW friendly) and wrote my shopping list we will go tomorrow morning first thing. I am just looking online for a dress for afternoon tea in brighton.

Mrs C enjoy your lazy day . I always thought I was a softy as well and in the main part I empathise with a lot of our tenants but sometimes I get frustrated and want to tell them they need to help theirselves.

Smashed crab - Sorry your H is away I couldnt cope with that we never spend anytime apart cant help with the timing thing sorry.

  • Re: *** Sat TTC ***

    Hello again everyone.

Bellybee - sorry you can't get out but does sound like you've had a very contructive day. Yeah strawberry milkshake and chocolate on prescription during AF Laugh

Smashedcrab - I think SB is right, I do think you ovulate 14 days before AF. So it sounds like maybe you ovulate later in the cycle and thats why your cycles are longer. Again though I am no expert.

Mrs Claus -lazy afternnons are a must sometimes. The ice-skating sounds fun, is it just for kids or do you go too?

Well its a grey day (though still warm), I kind of just expect it to be hot ans sunny everyday now cos we have had so much of it recently. Friend text to invite us to picnic, drinks, rounders and mucking about on the beach for her H's birthday this afternoon so thats prob my day sorted now. hope the rain holds off.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.
