Anyone having/had a red dress?

My daughter quite likes the idea of a red dress or red with ivory as they have decided on a Christmas wedding.  Any flashes for inspiration for us?

I had 2 brides with red dresses:

I tried on a gorgeous dress which came in red and it was the red version I tried on (was the bigger size!  ).  It looked stunning and much nicer in the red than the white version but I decided on a different style and wanted to wear white.

It was a Maggie dress - will see if I can find the pic...

Check Alfred Angelo dresses if she might be interested in a dress thats not all red. AA does dresses with all kinds of colours.

Ooo I like the ones in the model... We saw a Maggie one in red and ivory but it's quite tight fighting and then swirly at the bottom - lovely dress but she fancys one a bit "bigger at the bottom" quote!  So those in the photo look good!   The Hollywood Dreams ones look stunning but they also look a bit "puffalumpy" IFSWIM!  It's defo got to be red rather than burgundy as she wants to wear a fur stole and carry a fur muff decorated with flowers rather than a bouquet.  Her theme is Christmas reds and golds with a touch of black so it's all getting exciting!

When I was with my ex and we were beginning to plan our wedding, I tried on a few red dresses as I too wanted a winter wedding. They were stunning and looked really dramatic....... the bas***d then ditched me and got back with his ex! I saw some piccies on facebook the other week and they got married at xmas. Guess what...... she wore a red dress!!!

Some fab designs around though and will look really stricking.

lol, yeah def. This was a good few years back that we were thinking of getting married. Luckily my brain kicked in and we didnt take it any further and kept it as a distant dream thank god!

Quite a few of the bridal shops near me have red dresses in the window. Think it is beacuse they are so eye catching. They look so nice with the contrast of white flowers. Hints of black will look fab too and add to the dramatic look

Wow! Its HUGE! But i really like it. I see what you mean about it needing to be red and not burgendy ..sp. That is a beautiful bright red colour.

Has she tried it on yet? Is it chrimbo this year they are planning?

I know LOL!  Her Dad was just shaking his head in disbelieve  They've decided to go for a couple of weeks before Christmas 2011.  They've looked at quite a few venues and the prices in December plummet compared to summertime so that's what clinched it really!

Yeah I know a lot of venues drop their prices in the winter time. Our venue is very oldy worldy and would really suit a winter wedding as much as it would a summer wedding. I think they can look so beautiful, especially if you strike lucky and get snow!

I think our venue knows it is a fab winter venue too as they dont drop their prices at all, same price all year round.... buggers!
