The maxi cosi mura fits the car seat on the chassis.  My sister bought this on a bargain deal from kiddicare not long ago.  I believe the Quinny Buzz also fits the maxi cosi car seat.

There are loads of options - we have the Bugaboo Cameleon (it fits all Bugs) but I know others include the Quinny Buzz, Mothercare MyChoice (I think?), Maxi Cosi Mura and iCandy (all models). Sure there are tons of others too.

    There are soooooo many lol!

I have a Mutsy 4rider frame (selling if you're interested, well used but works!), a Zapp and now a Loola Up.

From memory the ICandy, Quinny Buzz/Zapp, Mutsy and Loola (now owned by Maxi Cosi IIRC) brands take a lot of Cabrios, but worth checking. Coverters cost about £15 a pop if not already included.

    hi

thanks for the replies - basically (its complicated) but i have a travel system from baby no.1 with a nightmare car seat, so bought a new car seat  (maxi cosi) and now just want a frame to put car seat on (as have a mclaren and a 3 wheeler i can use when LO gets older)

madonna - you mentioned a mutsy frame you are selling, would this be suitable and if so, how much do you want for it?

    thanks

  • Re: what wheels for the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat?

The Mutsy frame I have is the 4Rider light and takes the cabrio (pic below, please excuse bad hair) Week 01: My Mum's first trip too - Click to view full size photo

Comes with the adapters. I never bought the seat etc but had a carrycot for a while, but you can buy the extras as LO grows up.

Also seen on e  bay item 220538031365 (not mine). http://www.mutsy.nl/products/4rider/options

Was well used and needs collection from Essex, looking around £50 maybe? It's a solid chassis, takes up some room in the boot and the folding mechanism needs to be learned (but then it does on all prams I find) - no pressure, just shout if you do fancy it!

    hi madonna

can you let me know roughly! where you are in essex, as we are surre/hants border and it maybe just too far to travel (IYKWIM)

can i just check - the frame is black from the pic? and a 4 wheeler?

  • Re: what wheels for the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat?

It's mostly silver, with black around the wheels and at the hand grip. I'm J28 of the M25 if that helps?

If you are okay to wait a couple of days I can get Mr M to get it out of storage on Fri and take some actual pics, so you are sure?

    thanks Madonna

we are about 25mins south of Jnc 10 of the M25 so guess its just a bit too far to travel, as much as i am very interested in it - if i change my mind and decide to travel to you, i will let you know, but in the meantime please dont let this stop you selling it to someone else,

    thanks again

If it's just the wheels you want, and not to use it as a pushchair, then I'd go for the Zapp.  Folds up really small so ideally for keeping in the car to pop the carseat on to.

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?

  • Re: what wheels for the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat?

For another Zapp opinion, I'm not sure I would use it regularly with the Zapp chassis - the chassis can be unstable with a large changing bag on it (mine topples unless S is in it), and there is very little storage on the chassis itself - but as an occasional use absolutely agree. We used the Zapp chassis + seat for hols.

    thanks everyone.

Having bought the maxi cosi carseat, which i guess will be used for up to the next 12 months, i want (ideally) a 2nd hand chassis for it, that will prob be used for the next 6 - 12months as from about 6months we will be using the 3 wheeler we already had., Hence the requirement for a 2nd chassis as its prob only going to have 6m use out of it!

  • Re: what wheels for the maxi cosi cabriofix car seat?

So are you not going to have a pushchair suitable from birth and are just going to use the carseat on the wheels or are you looking for a pushchair that can also take the carseat ?

Personally I wouldn't have wanted to keep a newborn in the carseat all the time.  The 2 hour time limit is up very quickly by the time you've got anywhere.

Another question from me! - is there a 3 or 4 wheeler chassis (all terrain) that takes the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat, just as we do alot of walking etc and this would make it even more usable...
