Huge congratulations to you! Glad you are home and safe and well with Gilbert, I mean Seb!
So it's not just me that still thinks of him as Gilbert?
Nope definitely not just you two. I've called him it quite a few times now, as has MrDL. Luckily he does actually suit his real name, so I'm hoping we'll get used to calling him it soon!
Thanks for all your replies and congratulations. I haven't been online until now, as Seb is a bit of a velcro baby and we had a bit of a rough night. He just constantly fed from 10pm until 5am this morning and he wouldn't let me put him down. Eventually MrDL took him and tried to pacify him for a while so I could sleep. So I'd managed about an hour when the midwife showed up and promptly burst into tears when she asked how it was going
I think the hormones have definitely kicked in, I've cried at everything today. It's all so overwhelming and such a life changing experience. I love my boy so much and I just can't quite believe he's here. We've had a better day, having now started using Loobyg's magical pillow in the moses backet trick to get him to go down to sleep off us (it's just worked a treat hence I'm on here!). Both sets of grandparents have been to visit and we have been inundated with gorgeous gifts for the wee man.
Breast feeding is still going strong, he's a little milk monster! The only downside is that last night because of the fight we had and the constant feeding I've ended up with a bit of damage and I think that might also have contributed to the blocked duct that I have. We've been feeding more from that side and massaging during feeding, so I'm hoping that will do the trick.
