I dont usually ask for these but things are going bad to worse for my father inlaw. He's been in hospital for the past two weeks.
My father in law is stubborn when it comes to doctors. Doesnt think its necc to go and see them and this was the case when he was eventually diagnosed with bowel cancer. Hes a diabetic and one day he stubbed his toe, did nothing about it and lost a leg. He developed infection in hospital and the meds he was given gave him a heart attack. New meds stuffed up his kidneys.
Hes now depressed as hes had to give up so much of his life due to illness. A few weeks ago he went for his swine flu injection and it made him unwell, he didnt do anything about it and was eventually taken into hospital. He had lung problems. The meds he was given again, stuffed up his kidneys that he will now need dialysis for the rest of his days. Hubby went to see him last night and hes starting to lose his sight. The diabetis affects his eyesight and yet the docs have done nothing for him in the 3 years that hes had cataract problems.
MIL has just called to say he now has a lung infection and is off to get a blood transfusion, whilst his heart isnt doing too good either.......... I feel a bit helpless in all of this and deep down scared that he wont be around for christmas or new year. Hubby is worried too and yet annoyed at his father pig head-ness where his healths concerned....... he would love to sue the hospital if he could for all the misdiagnosis nonsense.... hes told me I am not having our children there!
