My SIL is 18ish weeks pregnant. She had her swine flu vaccine just over a week ago and since then she hasn't been able to lift her head from her pillow with a really extreme headache. When she got in touch with her doctors they said it was nothing to do with the vaccine and all she could have was paracetemol. After a few days they rang back again and this time they said it could be a rare side effect of the vaccine and that she should try ibuprofen - she spent a day being violently sick before they told her to stop the ibuprofen, and a friend of hers who is a doc told her she could have codine, and to try paracodol.
She was still in extreme pain. Last night my brother rang the OOH docs and she was admited to their local hospital, they don't seem to know what is wrong with her, but have mentioned a potential but really rare blood condition that can affect the brain in pregnancy and they need an MRI to confirm, apparently whatever it is, is treatable but they are going to have a battle to get an MRI done as they aren't usually consider safe on pregnant women! And it'll need to be done at a different hospital.
I'm getting all info second hand so I'm not really sure what's going on, but I've seen hitched vibes do great things in the past, so if there's any spare going I'd appreciate you sending them my SILs way!
