Thanks ladies.  I havent outright asked her for anything back but I did say it was typical I was pregnant again after giving everything away, perfect timing for her to offer it back.

Suppose I just need to put it down to experience and like others said, means I get to buy all new things....which I cant afford lol

Would have been nice to see this baby in something of A's though really.

Why not just ask her directly if she has any of the stuff still and explain you could make use of it with the new baby?

If I give stuff away, I don't expect it back. If I lend stuff, I make sure the person knows I'll want it back.

    What did you tell her?

I'd ask her directly as well.

FWIW I always check with people when they've handed on clothes whether they'd like them back, both at the time when they lend them and again when R has outgrown them.

If you gave them to her then I guess you cant really expect them back. She might not even think you want them back, that you maybe held on to some bits.

But, I guess there is no harm asking her if she still has them, that you know you gave her them but you didnt expect to be preg so soon afterwards, that if shes got rid of them, no problem, but if not, could you maybe have them back.

    WSmileyS,

When I take things offered to me I always ask if they want them back.  I have a couple of friends that always want things back, but another that will only give me things that she doesn't want back.  To be honest, I would never even loan things I wanted back (unless to close family)  - people forget what was yours, get irremovable stains on them etc so for me it's not worth the risk.
