They said it's on order, but won't be in shop until a month before the wedding.
Although my dress is on order and I have no idea when it will be in, given when you ordered yours, and they are saying it wont be there until a month before, it seems a little odd!!
I think my bridal salon said we would need 6-8 weeks for alterations, but then I guess that will depend slightly on how busy there seamstress is.
I feel your pain though, I dont have a pic of me in mine and I really want one!
I always thought you had your first fitting at least 2 months before the wedding and last one about 2 weeks before. I thought it was coming in about 6 months before to try on to see if it needed much alterations. I may get my mummy to call and yell! She's good at that!
have you considered getting your alterations done elsewhere? 150 miles away is a looooong way to go for alterations. i had 4 alteration appointments, but that's cos wedding dresses aren't usually made for people the same shape and size as rotund dwarves... 
mine came in about 2 months which i guess doesn't help you, but i would call and ask them to chase on your behalf as you want to look after your dress or investigate options for having alterations done elsewhere. i guess it depends who is holding the process up though - your dress shop or your designer.
