How long for dress to come in?

I want it now!!!!!  I ordered it in April 2009, not getting married until September 2010.  When do you think it will be in?

I have no previous experience of wedding dress ordering obviously but I've heard they take around 6 months, yours has obviously taken a bit longer though. I do vaguely remember seeing somewhere that in some cases they can take up to 9 months, but was under the impression this was rare.

I think from speaking to shop assistants it varies from designer to designer - for instance White Rose, who design my dress, are apparently fairly quick and only take between 4 and 6 months tops, but then others take much longer. I wouldn't worry about it, maybe just give them a call and see if they've had any news, for peace of mind if nothing else?

Mine took about 5 months - ordered it in January and it arrived in May. I know that they can all vary but as Stazzle said, I'd maybe give them a quick call just to check on the progress.

Thanks, will do! I didn't want to seem a bit crazy as i've still got 8 months to go.  I don't have a pic of me wearing the dress and i want one! And i want it now!

I ordered mine in June and although it will be ready in Jan, the shop aren't actually getting it in until May as they don't have the storage space etc for it so it may be similar for you?

Mine took 6 months. I ordered it in March and it came in September. The shop are holding on to it for me as i'll need to go back for my fittings next year.

They said it's on order, but won't be in shop until a month before the wedding.  I did lie a bit and say we're leaving the country a few weeks before we are so they'll get it in earlier.  Is a month long enough to do all the alterations. I'm 150 miles away from the shop and they were planning to get it in a month before my wedding date! So 2 weeks before we leave the country! Oh no no no!

I ordered mines in end of  August 2009 for my wedding in March 2010 and got a call Wednesday to say it is in and i can pop in at the weekend to try it and make sure its ok. Alterations wont start till Feb. I dont know if i got lucky but was told 12 weeks is about the average

Mine was ordered 3 weeks ago and they said it would be in Feb/March - so about four months. A month seems a bit short to do the alterations but I dunno for sure -married hitchers, how long did your's take?

I think my bridal salon said we would need 6-8 weeks for alterations, but then I guess that will depend slightly on how busy there seamstress is.

I feel your pain though, I dont have a pic of me in mine and I really want one!

I always thought you had your first fitting at least 2 months before the wedding and last one about 2 weeks before.  I thought it was coming in about 6 months before to try on to see if it needed much alterations.  I may get my mummy to call and yell! She's good at that!

My first fitting is 6 weeks before the wedding but my bridesmaids are 2 weeks before so they must have a quick turnaround!

I have no idea how long, but I hope it's soon for you !

My dress was ordered about 7/8 weeks ago, and my first fitting is the beginning of may.

I have found myself, walking past the shop and stopping myself to go and look at the sample dress!!
