Ive just seen the worst dr i have ever seen in my life! Apparently im asking for trouble because i am still bfing my 13mth old in the mornings!!! - but thats another story.

Anyway, he thinks i have a sinus infection (have had it for 3 weeks now). He says i cant take anything as i am BFing and allergic to penicilin. It was doxycycline he was going to give me.

He also didnt seem to think this infection would clear on its own.

Anyone know anything about this?? I feel so rough today. Will i just keep getting worse if i dont take anything? Has anyone taken anything for this when BFing?

    TIA for any advice!

    Hi Breeze

I was rough for three weeks and had horrible cold and sinus pain.  The only thing I found helped was steaming and usinfg ovirtrin nasal spray (I think that is what it is called - white bottle with red and white writing!)

    Hope you feel better soon

    Thank you both!

deedee, i didnt realise i could use a nasal spray when bfing. I will pop to get some this afternoon! Thank you!

Shiny, that link is fab! It has listed the antib i have been given and it says that short doses are fine. Thats very good news!

I think to be completely on the safe side i am going to see another dr tomorrow to be sure that I do need antibs. I will double check what they say about this one i was given.

    Thank you both for replying!
