  • Anyone up? Advice please

OH is very ill at the moment. LO is ill at the moment. My instinct is to stay at home with them and look after them rather than go to work. However part of me is also worrying that it is the wrong isntinct.

I guess I am looking for permission to phone work and say I am not coming in.

If you go to work will it just be the 2 of them at home? If so I'd definitely stay home. Doesn't sound like your OH would be able to properly care for your LO if needed and it would be best for him to concentrate on getting himself better.

    Permission granted xx

Thank you. OH was supposed to be looking after him in the morning and then MIL in the afternoon. I can't believe how ill OH seems and he won't let me take him to the GPsSad

ETA he is right it is flu and theres nothing they can do is there?

I'm not sure if they can do anything but if you are really worried there's no harm in phoning for advice x

If you feel guilty (though don't see why you should), you can always tell work you'll see if they improve over the day/when MIL can help out, and if so pop in later?

I've just done that MadonnaSmile I have been up most of the night with both of them and am pretty knackered myself.

MIL and FIL are ill as well, hence OH having B today!

Definitely stay at home - it's the right thing to do.

If your OH has flu symptoms, I would say call the flu helpline or NHS Direct for advice, especially with a little one at home as well. It may be that there's nothing you can do, or that they wouldn't prescribe anything but better to check IMO. At my GP, there's a sign on the door telling people to go home if they have flu symptoms and call for advice, so visiting the GP probably wouldn't be the best plan.

Really hope both make a full recovery soon. Hug

    Katy
