  • Present for Dad??

    Hi all,

My dad has really helped us out financially for our wedding (which is in 7wks!!).  I really want to get a gift to say thank you which he will actually like.  I don't want a pointless gift but can't think of anything orignial or worthwhile.

    Ideas please?

    x

Hmm - tough one.  If you want a worthwhile gift that he will actually like then it all depends on what he likes and only you know that...

Does he have any hobbies or interests...?

Can't be much help i'm afraid, couldn't even tell you what I could get my Dad.

does he garden, you can get "wedding day rose bushes

does he like a drink ,what about a really expensive single malt whisky

a watch engraved with a personal message

what about making up a scrap book of pictures and memories of the two of you

try thinking around any hobbies or interests he has, or would he treasure a keepsake or would a special day out like wine tasting or driving a fast car be more his thing

I'm booking my H2B a chauffeur driven Aston Martin to the ceremony.  My dad then has not idea that the car will be taking him onto the reception.  I just thought a bit of male bonding would be good and some excellent photo opportunities of them together.  Its funny watching my dad go green with envy over Steve arriving in a DB9...... little does he know.

    Its through www.specialdaycars.com

What about a digital photoframe, that's what we bought the dad's as our thankyou gift and they love them.

Jessops have some excellent ones there.

Sounds like a great idea!! how is your mum getting to the reception? when your dad is in the DB9?  My mum would be green with envy if my dad got that as a present!

  • Re: Present for Dad??

We have hired a three cars altogether, so when my dad is in the DB9, myself and Steve will be in the 'main car' and then we have a Jaguar to take my mum and the bridesmaids to the reception.  All sounds good in theory, so fingers crossed!!!

I found Special Day Cars to be really helpful, so would happily recommend them

My Dad's recently gotten into drinking Port.  I can't seem to find the website now but it was a specially labeled bottle of port with an engraved glass to match Smile

A Supercar can be a great addition to a wedding day.

Not only does it provide the H2B and/or Best Man with a great start to the big day but they can then be used to treat other special guests or members of the family.

Our Aston is offered all day if required right up until midnight if need-be. This ensures all your guests get to see it and we offer Experience rides to the guests, of course all at the request of the clients, we would never pimp rides to guests without prior arrangement.

This allows everyone at the wedding to be involved and to experience something out of the ordinary.

For anyone hiring a Supercar maybe you should ask the supplier if they can provide these extra's.. as we all know extra's like this is what keeps people talking about your big day for month's possibly years to come.

Hope this helps some of you.

    Kindest Regards,

    Phil
