Been to see the physio and been told to use crutches cos my pelvis is being pulled apart by the bump which in effect means that I cant walk properly. Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm still working and was intending to do so up to 2 weeks before my due date. do you think it will be ok? will i be able to ditch the crutches after awhile or am I stuck with them until Bumpy appears?

    Hug

I was on crutches and had both arms in splints for carpel tunnel so was pretty miserable. It's not much fun. I did find some days better than others and did manage to give up on the crutches before the end so there is hope.

It depends on how much pain is accompanying the crutches I would think.  I'm also on crutches at the moment but still cannot walk for more than 10 minutes without being reduced to tears.  If you're lucky enough to be able to walk I'd make the most of it. Kiss

Have you looked into when your maternity leave kicks in if you are sick?  i think mine was 4 weeks before which was actually better than I was planning to work, so you might be better off conserving energy.  ButI did have a 2 hour commute!

Inadequate hugscoming your way anyway, it's *** isn't it!

I was on crutches for the last 5 weeks of my pregnancy.

I ended up leaving work at 36 weeks, I really couldnt handle the commute. I was already doing shorter days so I could miss rush hour and guareentee a seat on the train and tube.

so I stayed at home alot, but I could get away with them for a short walk, but I did suffer.

Try and put up with them though as you still have a way to go, my SPD only got worse.

    Sorry its hard!!

I had bad SPD and ended up on crutches at 27 weeks.  I wish I'd had them earlier as it would have helped me get around more.  Have you been to physio?  They should give you tips on how to avoid pain and making it worse.   Is it SPD you have or something else?
