  • Lazy preschooler - double pushchair?

Emy is 2yrs 9 months and will run around the garden but hates walking.  We have a buggy board for the Loola for her but when we walk she moans and wants carrying.  Izzy is 2 weeks.  Thinking of getting a 2nd hand double just for the next few months and then selling on. We have a sling for Izzy and a normal pushchair which is suitable from 3 months. So a double may be a waste of money.

Any suggestions on getting E to walk (about half a mile to pre school) with out a melt down?

What about getting her to look out for things that you see on the way.

Or counting gates, cars, houses, footsteps. Or looking for things of the same colour.

    Collecting leaves.

Carrying something for you as a special 'treat'.

Go 'exploring' (this means going for a walk but sounds more exciting.)

Bribe her with a sticker, promise of a small treat when you get somewhere.

I don't think I'd bother with a double. But then I only have one so its a bit easier.

I bought a Jane Powertwin second hand from gumtree for £70 for the same reason and its been my best purchase so far, I love it.

Megan is just 3, and I wouldn't want her actually walking a full half mile before & after preschool - she's knackered enough as it is. If we go somewhere now, then she'll go on the buggy board, or in the buggy (E in sling). A lot of her friends use their scooters for that type of journey.

We have a 2 yr 5 month age gap and have done without a double - but that has involved a lot of slinging

Thanks for the replies.  I'll try sling and pushchair tomorrow if the weather is good.
