  • what yoghurts do your LO eat?

    Hiya,

my lo 9 1/2 month and as yet hasn't yet had any sort of yoghurt, not sure why no reason really

what yoghurts do your lo eat? do you give something like petit filous (sp?) or are these too full of sugar?

    or

do you give just natural yoghurt ?do you flavour it with anything else eg fruit puree?

    thanks

Muller Little Stars fromage fraise are very popular in our house.

We have plain yogurt with fruit puree mixed in a lot of the time (currently stewed apples with cinnamon that was left over from a crumble and greek yogurt).  Sometimes I buy fruit puree as I don't have time to make it.  Sometimes we have Muller Little Stars (Jack has these anyway), and Sophie likes having the same as him.  I do put hers in an empty little start pot so she thinks she's getting the same.  I give her little strips of sponge cake to dip in it to eat it, or give her the spoon if I can stand the mess!

We just give Leo greek yogurt. Before he turned one I used to put a bit of fruit puree through it and now he's one he gets a dollop of honey.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine!

We normally give Muller Little Stars or Rachel Organics. For ages, we were giving Greek or natural yoghurt with fruit puree but haven't done that for a while.

we use yeo valley plain natural full fat yoghurt and then moved onto the yeo valley smooth and creamy fruit ones and the little stars ones

  • Re: what yoghurts do your LO eat?

Normally Rachels' Organic as they were the only ones I could find with no added sugar.

Little stars or petit filous in our house, but you're right they do have quite a bit of sugar it.

Started with Yeo Valley Natural (Full fat) yohgurt with a banana mashed in. Still do that sometimes as we both enjoy that, but also have Rachels Organic My 1st Yoghurts now, which are delicious too!

Tried the Muller Little Stars petit filous this week as no Rachels Organic and was disappointed with the taste - tasted a bit artificial but I don't think they put any flavourings in. K also spits out the Muller Little Stars Jellies that we tried at a friend's the other week - don't think she's keen on the texture.

I think Petit filous have something like 1 1/2 spoons of sugar in each tiny pot (and call 2 pots a serving!), so have steered well clear of them. Not sure where the Muller ones come in the added sugar stakes, but the Rachels Organic are sweetened with fruit sugars instead which is supposed to be healthier - they certainly taste nicer IMO!!

We tend to buy the Sainsbugs Kids fromage frais... they are sweetened with fruit puree rather than more chemical sugars IYSWIM and taste pretty nice!

I have a yoghurt maker and I make kilogram pots of bio organic plain unswetened natural yoghurt. Ikey hoovers the stuff and is almost more keen on the yoghurt than the fruit puree I put in it!

Alex has full fat Yeo Valley organic natural yoghurt with a bit of fruit puree mixed in. I've avoided others because of sugar though I suspect when he has yoghurt at nursery it has sugar in.

O either has homemade natural yogurt (easiyo) or Plum Fromage Frais or Little Yeo's.

    He is a yogurt monster!
