  • Stupid Tesco clubcard question.....

How does it work!!! I have only just gone over to Tesco after years of shopping at Asda...which I now refuse to do after a horric experience with their credit card department...but thats another story!!!!

Can you just get them to swip the card and your points come off as money at the till. I am getting confused with the double money coupons if you get clothes etc!!!!

Sorry its such a silly question but all these vouchers keep landing on my door mat, and I don't know quite whats going on. My friend saves hers for a holiday but I can't seem to work it out!!!

    Thanks guys xxxx

Swipe the card every time you buy something at Tesco. 3 or 4 times a year they add them all up and send you vouchers. These can either be used to buy things in Tesco or swapped for deals where you normally get 4 times the face value of the voucher (so generally better to use them doing this than to spend them in tesco).

I always either double them up and spend them on baby stuff in store (at least you get two times the value). Or you can get the deals brochure in store or look at the tesco website, the deals are for things like hotels, theme park days, holiday vouchers, etc and are worth 4 times the face value of the vouchers.

I never spend them in store, just because I want to make the most of the vouchers.

Thats great thanks. So as the statments come a few times a year, do you just leave the points in there and they mount up, or do you need to convert the points in to vouchers as and when they land on the door mat?

    I just left mine.....hope I haven't lost them!!!

    Thanks

If you get the paper statements they should have the vouchers attached (to tear off). They have their value printed on them e.g. £5 or whatever. If you want to just use them for money off shopping then just tear them off and take them into the store with you, present them at the checkout before you pay. If you want to use them for deals / partner rewards etc then go online and you have to choose what you want to swap them for, you then get sent different vouchers for whatever you've selected.

The clubcard vouchers have an expiry date on them (a long one) but you can just ring up and get them extended anyway). The deals vouchers (so if you've swapped them) usually have an expiry date that you can't change.

    HTH!
