    Hecate:

We found the only bottle that would work were Breastflow - have a spare unused here if you want it to have a bash?

Buying thousands of bottles to try gets pricey!

It really does, we bought virtually every bottle on the market for Molly! Laugh

Hmmm. Ikey is 11 months and still won't take one. He drinks water from a sippy beaker, but if you try replacing it with milk he seems to think you are a mentalist.

I know Sofa Leopard persisted and Holly would take a bottle on a full moon if the wind was blowing in the right direction.

I think it depends how important it is for her to take a bottle as to how long you persist.

And only if the moon was blue...

Tbh, if you're having problems I'd be tempted to leave it until S is 6/7 months old (sitting up) and then try a doidy cup or sippy cup instead and completely bypass the bottle. For us, trying a bottle caused so much grief that it really wasn't worth it for the odd haircut or evening out here and there (and yes, I did get my hair cut v quickly for months...)

We have been incredibly lucky in that J is happy to have both breast and bottle, breast milk and formula. He is really not fussy at all. We have only ever tried him with one sort of bottle - the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles - and we have never had a problem with them. I have a brand new unopened pack of them here that I am more than happy to send to you as a RAHK if you would like to try them. My email address is hotfish@tiscali.co.uk Smile

Thanks all, some things to try there.  S is 10 weeks old now and it would be nice to give Mrs GB a decent break every now and again.

We did exactly the same thing.  He took it fine at 4/5 weeks.  Got complacent then tried again at about 12 weeks and he refused it.  He now and again took a faster flower teat but not with much success and used to get very wound up so we just gave up.  From 6 months he will take milk from a beaker.  Wish we had perservered with it though as even now L relies very much on BF and in nearly 9 months I have done every single feed during day and night!

Maybe try a different bottle, faster teat, get MrsBG to wear a muslin down her bra for a bit and wrap that round the bottle.  Try milk at different tempreatures.  MrsB's tips are brilliant too

We've had exactly the same issues. I realised it's now been 8 weeks since I was able to be away from him for more than 2 hours, and it's now getting me down. (particularly as it takes 3 hours to get my hair done EmbarrassedLaugh)

I know it's really cheeky, but if anyone has any kind of bottle they could send me to try I'd be more than grateful as Avent aren't cutting it and I'd hate to buy a load more to be rejected.

E was a fusspot too. One thing that worked for us as warming the milk quite a bit. Also, he used to get really distressed if anyone else tried to give him a bottle. Strangely enough, we foud that as I was the only one able to settle him, he took a bottle from me better than anyone else. I used to sit him on my lap, looking outwards with his back against my boobs. I then laid back a bit, cupped his chin in my hand and held the teat in his mouth in that position. We used the latex Nuk teats which he much preferred to any silicone teat we tried. Once he got used to being given a bottle from me, Mr PC was able to give a bottle without too much of a problem. It took a lot of perseverance though - and a lot of tears from both E and myself. I think it really depends on how much you want/need S to take a bottle as to how far you want to go with the stress and upset. Good Luck.

Gawd, I've not even thought about it this time around.  I guess at 4 mths it's not really worth it now & may as well wait for cups in a few more months.  my hair looks *** though Laugh
