Is it too much to want a swimming pool that has a baby pool that doesn't make the baby shiver continously within five minutes of going in, with changing rooms that don't have horrible things all over the floor from rarely if ever being cleaned and lockers that work?

That is the bare mininium I want -  a baby pool that has a shallow end and baby chnaging facilities would be nice as well but we can cope without that, would just really appreciate the above.

We ahve been trying different pools for the last couple of weeks without successSad

I can't help - scared of swimming etc so poor Jack hasn't actually been, although he does his best to 'swim' in the bath and loves water...... my next door neighbour is a swimming teacher and even offered to help me get over my fear and relearn to swim, but I kept putting it off!

COuld you do a post for people in your area to rec a good swimming pool for little ones?

As a swimming teacher and pool manager is post makes me very sad - it certainly is not too much to ask - what area areyou?

Sorry for the delays in replying. I'm in the north-east. We have been to County Durham, Teesside, and North Yorkshire in our travels. There are a few more to go to as we are travelling over a fair distance but we know we are going to have to comprimise in the end. The warmest one was the one with no locks on the changing rooms, dirty floor, and broken lockers and I think we will end up at that one.

    Hi there,

Not sure whereabouts in the NE you're from but have you tried 'Waves' at Whitley Bay? The pool is never colder than 29 degrees ( the temp is displayed on a big screen by the pool) and the changing rooms are fairly clean.  They have quite a few family changing cubicles too. It's only been open a few months, so it's quite modern.

It can be a bit busy at the weekends, but it's good fun.  The bigger pool has waves every now and again which can be a bit much for the littlies, but the baby pool is good, and has a pirate ship with slides etc although not sure how old your baby is, this might be a bit big for him/her

    Hope this helps

Cheers Jen, that would be over an hour and more away for us, but might be worth trying for a long day outSmile Although B would find 29 degrees coldSad
