  • Parking at east midlands airport

Going away in a week or so and deciding what to do about parking.  We live south of Birmingham so a taxi might b expensive.  We will have two heavy suitcases and a lively 3 yr old so don't fancy off airport parking.   There were several options

Meet and greet - meets in short stay car park £82

On airport parking - close to Terminal £60

vairous others further away.   So can anyone tell me how close the long stay car park is that is meant to be within walking distance??

I managed to get from the long stay parking at East Midlands with a case, changing bag, pushchair and 8 month old by myself, so it can't be that far - maybe ten minute walk?  Quite close anyway IMO.

    Have a nice holiday!

I've used Long Stay Car Park 1 before, which is less than a five minute walk from the terminal. I believe 2-4 are a similar distance. I've also used 7 which has a good shuttle bus service. If the saving was significant, I'd go for 6 or 7.

We regularly use the long stay park - not sure which number but it is the one for pre-booking only.  It is only a very short walk to departures (depending on where in the car park you park) but there are plenty of bays with trolleys throughout the car park.

I've used airparks which is so far away from the terminal it's practically on donnington race track! It was still only 5 mins in a shuttle bus though and the buses go every 15 mins so there was never any stress and it was quite a bit cheaper.

I can walk from the long stay car park with no problems and that's coming from someone who can't even stand up some days Laugh  I ran it once too as it was absolutely hammering it down!

Or you could park on our road - one high jump and you'd just about be able to grab the undercarriage of the plane as it goes by Laugh
