...Apologies

Just thought I should make an apology...

I am sorry for a couple of things...

Firstly, let me say sorry for the speed of the forums. The servers that we have which are based in the USA can sometimes struggle cope and this can mean the forums run slowly and sometimes grind to a halt altogether. But we do try.  Last night, following the latest 'go slow' and the eventual 'halt' we cut the full site accross to another brand news dedicated server. We are hoping this helps the speed and resilience but I guess only time will tell. I do promise however that we are constantly monitoring it and working hard to make any improvements we can. If I or someone else doesn't reply to a post on the forum, it doesn't mean it is being ignored, we simply have to prioritise our workload and it sometimes takes us longer than we would like to get around to actioning everything.

Secondly I'd like to apologise for my post about swearing on the forum. I in no way meant to treat anyone like a child or offend anyone.  I feel I should explain why the post was necessary.

The 'please do not swear' post was not created as the result of any individual person or event. It was simply as a result of a lot of feedback both directly to us on email and indirectly to us via outside agencies. Swearing on the forum is simply something we don't want and furthermore, there are certain programs used on the www that search sites for swear words and finding them can ultimately lead to the site being labeled as 'adult content'. This may innevitably result in hitched being blocked from certain servers, therefore restricting access. I really would appreciate it if you could refraing from using swear words on hitched. If you are unsure if a word is allowed, please air on the cautious side and please avoid using the formatting options to overcome the code that prohibits rude words appearing.

We are very aware of other forums being out their for use and do not for one moment believe that our site is the only one you all use.  We love you using hitched and really appreciate the loyalty many of you have shown us over the years.

I really hope the forum speeds get sorted out soon, I love hitched, and haven't posted much recently, partly due to the speeds, and lack of interaction on the forum because of the speed. I'd love to get back to the good old days!
