Can I have please have some ideas of Scottish/Celtic baby names please - boys and girls? Or any suggestions of good name websites?

I like Fraser for a boy but my H isn't as keen and the only girls names I can think of are Caitlin (does that count in those categories?) and Isobel.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks for the ideas so far, loads there that I hadn't thought of. Really like Murray, Finlay and Angus (although that was the name of my old dog so probably shouldn't use it!) and Catriona (if I could pronounce it Cat-ree-oh-nah and not look silly), Isla and Flora.

Am off to look at the link that was added - thanks guys!

We seemed to have a bit of a leaning towards Scottish boys names for some reason, infact we had chosen Fraser if Z was a boy.  Other names we had were :-

    • Alasdair / Alistair
    • Cameron
    • Euan
    • Callan

For girls I can think of :-

    • Rhian (ok, Welsh but still sort of Celtic)
    • Mhairi
    • Niamh
    • Caitlyn
    • Eilidh
    • Ailsa
    • Isla
    • Bronwyn (another Welsh one)

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?

I have a Campbell which I love but he regularly gets called Cameron or Calum by people which is a tad irritating.

Other boys names I like are Fergus, Archie, Logan, Lewis, Harris

For girls I like Isla, Ioma, Ailsa, Kirsty, Heather, Mairead

I love Hamish and Lachlan for boys, though couldnt use either as I know a dog called Hamish and Lachlan is practically our surname!

Girls I like Niamh (pronounced Neve) Sioban (Shona) Kirsten (but hate when people say Kursten)

The Welsh are most definitely Celts too. As are peoples from Scotland, Ireland, Brittany, Isle of Man, and Cornwall. Well, some of them Laugh

    We have a Rhys.

I like Mhairi (pronounced Varee), and oh, too many names to list, really.

Z, I too class welsh as celtic (my maiden name was megan williams, can,t get much more welsh sounding) but when i mentioned we liked celtic names and rhian was topof our list i got a few replies of "but that's welsh" so didn,t know if that was a common viewpoint.

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?
