The 'jitters' associated with starting a course of SSRIs....  An unpleasant side-effect?

I have them.    And they're faffing great.

I had some which made me buzz and I couldn't keep still.  Can't remember which ones they were but it was like being on speed.  I liked those ones a lot.  The doctor took me off them though when H told her I had stopped sleeping and was staying up all night, every night.  Spoilsport.

When I first started paroxetine I got hallucinations which were very wierd. My h was very jealous as he's never had any 'cool' side effects.

Probably the second best set of trembling knees I've ever had.

    And no effort required, result!

Sertraline, Nick? That is very speedy when you first take it. The one plus side is that if you are carrying a couple of extra pounds, you soon won't be. Sertraline made me wonderfully skinny when I first took it. Sadly it doesn't last. But I always feel slightly better when I am less lardy, and lets face it any good feelings are to be cherished when you are depressed. I hope that the therapeutic qualities kick in for you fast.

Never had ones that make me shake but I did have some that essentially erased my short term memory. Only realised when a friend told me he'd taken his car into the garage and it was costing a fortune. I asked him why it needed to be in. He stared at me with incredulity for a few minutes then proceeded to tell me that the night before I had sat with him for twenty minutes making sure he was ok after he crashed his car on the way to a party I was throwing...

Can't say I'd notice memory loss....  My memory is one of the reasons I carry a PDA.

    It's Citalopram.

I seem to remember you posting about one of the other, slightly more useful side effects of SSRIs a while back! Wink Lucky girl!

I am jealous, I haven't got any cool side effects either. Just had my fluoxetine doubled and haven't noticed anything, except feeling really hot all the time! Citalopram gave me an itchy rash, but it really upped my H's libido. Weird, huh.

Hope you're feeling a bit better Nick, I have been thinking about you.

The worst thing I have ever been on was Mitrazapine. It robbed nearly ten months of my life. The side affects were that bad.  Random internet weirdy hugs for all those currently on the bench at the moment.

I had that for a long while.  It's only when you change/come off that you look back and realise how bad the side effects were.  I just couldn't see it (or do anything) at the time.

Group hug for everyone on the headmending bench. Hug

I had the most horrific nightmares on Citalopram. They were really grotesque dreams that involved brutal murders. They only lasted a couple of weeks thankfully.
