Tesco Clubcard points - how do they work??!!!

I'm clearly having a fuzzy Sunday morning......

I pick my new car up tomorrow and suddenly thought that I could stick the payment on my credit card (providing there are no 2.5% surcharges for doing so) and earn some point

I'll get 1 point for every £4 I spend so for £6k I'll get 1500 points

What does that equate to in vouchers then, £15.00? I collect the points but never really think about what I'm getting or how to put them to use

That sounds right. You then get sent vouchers quarterly that you can spend on normal shopping in Tesco or can send off o earn 4x their value to spend on things like day trips, AA or is it RAC cover for your car, hotels, restaurants etc

That's right, you'd get a voucher which would be worth £15 in store for general shopping, £30 if you doubled up in storefor things like wine and clothes (can't remember exactly what things they let you double up on, it'll say on the website), and £60 if you converted it to dels.

However, I've always found car dealers won't let you put it all on credit card, last time we could put a grand on, but the rest had to be debit card.

Good tip Emma80 - just called the garage and  their limit is £1500..............

Bit of a bummer as I was trying to be Mr Money Saving Expert's star pupil by getting in to 'making my financial products work for me' mode! 

Not sure if it's worth it for £3.75.......

But that's £15 worth which will get you a magazine subscription, or go towards a meal or a day out - I'd go for it!

I'd still do it, as long as you pay off the credit card straight away it's still something for nothing. It all adds up!
