im stuck in the house until we get rid of this swine flu. but alot of friends and family have been round to pass things through the window and do shopping and anything else we need and even the lovely new next door neighbours popped over (to the window) to see how we all where and to see if we needed anything.

people can be so nice its lovely.

Yeah, we're finding the same. Mr W and me are at home with SF and everyone is offering to help with things. A friend came over last night with a big bag of DVDs to keep up busy. It's lovely.

Nope - we neither have anything resembling cold, and don't know anyone either. Maybe its a Leeds thing?

  • Re: slightly resored my faith in humanity

i don't know anyone else that's got it, but i'm back to work tomorrow so there might be more there.

  • Re: slightly resored my faith in humanity

I don't know anyone irl with SF either, only someone with a bad case of sinusitis

  • Re: slightly resored my faith in humanity

I didn't know anyone either... my OH's boss' wife has it, but I think that's too tenuous to count as a IRL SF incident!  I wonder who can go the longest without knowing anyone who has it?

  • Re: slightly resored my faith in humanity

Before school broke up for the summer I knew of 11 cases among the children (2 of whom were in classes I taught) and 1 case on the staff. I also know three or four people outside work who have it. At H's work a whole department was sent home when one of them was confirmed with it, just a precaution.

nuneaton is rife with it, half our frontline have it which means that the advisors will probably get it next, we are already running on low staff cos of hols so our jobcentre may be a bit mad for the next few weeks.

I don't know anyone either, if it wasn't for the news (and Hitched!) I wouldn't have a clue that we're in the grip of a pandemic.
