People updating their Facebook status to read 'I'm Bored' is annoying is it not? Well the next level has been reached. Someone on my Facebook has uploaded a video singing about how bored she is, the lyrics being I'm bored, I'm bored, I'm bored etc... Should I cull immediately? Why would anyone do this?

  • Re: Facebook rant

Facebook statuses drive me mad in general.  Not everyone, but a significant group on my 'friends' list feel the need to either brag or moan on a daily basis.

I had a girl putting a similar status recently, about how fed up she was and then joined a group called 'i'm bored'!!?  But I must admit the video singing 'i'm bored' does take it to a whole other level!  You not only have to be very bored to make a video like that, but you also have to be slightly cuckoo!

It's better than people updatig with 'I'm board' which two of my friends have done today.

I hae also culled my SIL on Facebook today as she is trying to draw me into an arguement via passive agressive status updates.

Isn't culling someone via FB a bit passive aggressive Laugh I do appreciate the frustration with stupid FB updates though. I also agree that having IL's as FB friends isn't the greatest idea, but have only learnt that via my own bitter experience.

I have found the 'hide' function particularly useful for people who update with stupid statuses but who I don't want to cull for whatever reason.

Yeah it probably is but I was itching to reply to her, and it would of started a massve famiy arguement so decided to remove her as this isn't the first time she has done this.

I don't get this aspect of facebook it seems to be designed to allow a load of willy wavers to tell me how amazing their lives are or people who think I am interested that they have just got back from the supermarket / have a massive hangover / feel sad Michael Jackson has died.

Same here - there's one guy who basically cuts and pastes his Twitter updates into Facebook, which is monumentally irritating, but he also makes sensible comments on my various posts, so hiding his status updates solved everything.

But he's the only person I've blocked, as for the most part my friends' status updates are great, ranging from genuinely interesting to intentionally funny to barking mad.  I suspect the fact that the vast majority are writers and assorted meejah people probably helps.

  • Re: Facebook rant

Oh god, I think I've updated mine to I'm Bored in the past?! ROTFL

What's acceptable/unacceptable use of the status then... so I can avoid all possible future faux-pas Laugh

  • Re: Facebook rant

    Ha ha, my SIL's latest....

thinks wen people are annoyed at you why do they put stupid status' instead of just saying it to you outright?

The irony repair man is clearly on leave Laugh And don't start me on the text speak.
