I know what you mean about being leaving your wife - I hated it when H left me and J, although they'd pulled a few strings to keep him around as long as they did (it was 1am). I felt so freaked out, but your wife sounds pretty brave!

I honestly think that the father should be allowed to be there, ward or no ward. I was lucky with Cal in that we were in a small cottage hospital and they were easy-osey about Niall coming and going. I have to say it's never bothered me when some girls have had their partners there with them on the ward outside of visiting times

Baron that sounds so familiar- all of it. Even down to a forceps delivery in theatre and the heartrate dropping. It's so nice to hear it from the other side.

glad she arrived safely. Without wishing to be TMI please warn the Baroness that bathroom trips have high chance of being Not Normal for quite a few weeks. This was by far the biggest shock to me after a similar delivery.

I think it's lovely that you had half an hour on your own with her too. It might have nearly made me cry.
