On the way to work this morning I managed to twist my ankle over (a in the park moved just as I stepped onto it) and it hurts quite a bit. I can just about walk but it takes me an age to get anywhere and I keep getting pins and needles in my toes and foot but when I move my foot to try and relieve it the pain is quite bad. Theres a bit of swelling just below that bit of bone that sticks out on my ankle but I think my trainer is stopping it swell any more. Should I go and get it seen to or should just go to boots and get a bandage or something?

Also anyone know if it's ok to take paracetamol or ubruprofen with Bedranol?

If it hurts that much then you need to go to A&E and get them to look at it

I'd probably just get a bandage if I could walk on it, but as you're struggling with movement of toes then if you have the patience then it might be a good idea to go and sit at A&E.

Until last Friday I would have said bandage but on Friday morning I tripped running for the bus and bashed my left knee. I managed to get to work and hobbled around for 7 hours before my boss told me to go to A&E - I've torn ligaments in my knee and am now on crutches feeling v sorry for myself .

If in doubt, get it checked - I hope it's alright though :)

Thanks for the replies. A&E isn't too far out of my way home so I'll go and see what the waiting time is like and if it's not too bad I'll see someone. I'm useless with this sort of thing - once walked around with broken toes for a week before I went to see someone about it. I'm sure I've only got a nasty sprain though so I don't want to waste anyones time.

Meep - Ouch sounds nasty. Hope it's better soon.

I've just got back from a&e. I have damaged the ligaments along the top of my foot. It's all strapped up and should take a couple of weeks to heal. I was told to take iburprofen but can't becuase of the other medication I'm on (at least that's what the internet tells me).

Oh no poor you Sad  Still at least you've got it looked at

I sympathise with foot pain, have now spent a year in pain after falling down a step and had to have major surgery

Aww you poor thing that doesn't sound like much fun at all.

Glad you went to get it checked out at A&E at least they were able to give it a bit of support with the strapping and an idea of how long it's likely to last.

Hope you manage to find something suitable to keep the pain at bay and that it heals up super quick. Big Smile
