there won't be anyone left soon.

  • Re: TORCHWOOD - SPOILERS

I am rather pondering if that might not indeed be the case.

RTD is shockingly derivative, and tonight I was strongly reminded of another Sci-Fi ...errr... thing... Which did not end well....

Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.....

Can't see any way back from that.

    RIP Torchwood.

  • Re: TORCHWOOD - SPOILERS

Blake's 7 managed several series without Blake....

That was a dangerous rip-off of Jed Mercurio's Invasion Earth BTW.

Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.....

  • Re: TORCHWOOD - SPOILERS

Could have done without that last "6 months later" bit imho, other than that brilliant as a whole.  Uncomfortable at times but brilliant

  • Re: TORCHWOOD - SPOILERS

Don't get me wrong, that was the most enjoyable UK produced Sci-Fi I've seen in years.  But really....  I admit I'm nerdish, but not ridiculously so, and the numer of *homages* in that story just isn't funny.

The only original elements are those of a non sci-fi nature, and even there, Queer As Folk's dramatic ears must have been burning at times.

Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.....

Bloody hell that was horrible. Not good watching for the woman with young school age kids. I sobbed.

Frobisher was forced into giving his daughters up for "innoculation" so shot himself and his family instead.

Army moved in to round up kids, very traumatic scenes of children being dragged away from parents.

jack, sciency man and evil govt woman get together to try and stop the 456. Solution is to use jack's grandson to channel a frequency back at them, knowing it will kill him.

gwen and Reece try to save Ianto's neice and nephew.

Frfobisher s seretary used the contact lens to get revenge on prime minister.

ack dissapears for six months then meets with Gwen to say goodbye and heads off into space, never to be seen again...?

Same here. I've been watching it all week and I know it's not real...but it really made my blood run cold when they started taking the children.

I found it really disturbing at the end. I sobbed too. I'm wondering if I actually wish I'd not seen it.

Glad I didn't watch then - separating parents and children hits right at my core neuroses Laugh

I found it uncomfortable, disturbing, heartbreaking and brilliant all at the same. One of the best programmes I have watched in a long time
