A QUEST FOR HITCHERS...PLEASE,PLEASE HELP!!!

I am wondering if one of you lovely ladies can help me, if you are near a Mothercare store or can call your nearest one and check something....

We are having the 'Please look after me' range from mothercare, and went in and cleared most of their shelves for the twins -moses baskets, bedding etc etc. BUT they had no borders. I didnt think this would be a problem and thought Id just order online. However, the border was out of stock online, so I requested an 'email me when back in stock'. I got into work at 9 this morning and had an email sent at 05.52 saying 'back in stock'. I was so excxited and went on to order, but still said 'out of stock online' ! gah! So I rang Mothercare customer services and they said that it is a design fault, and one mustve been returned to the factory which generated the email.

she said although there are none 'in the system' there are definately some out there somewhere ! I tried my local branch southend, as well as basildon and both chelmsford branches.

Does anyone live near a mothercare anywhere else in the country that can please, please check for me? can send money by paypal or cheque or whatever for the borders, postage and a bit extra for your trouble!!

we are feeling a bit disappointed at the mo as the room just wont be 'finished' without the border.

I'd happily go into either Leicester or Nottingham for you but I'm at work at the minute so can't call round.  If you could call and find out I'd pick them up though.

I've was in Mothercare in York yesterday and there was a distinct lack of anything from that range - lots of empty spaces on the shelves.  If there's been a design flaw it could be that there has been a whole bunch returned and they now have a delivery delay.

Have you tried Ebay ? Sometimes people sell off when they have bought too much.

I can second the e  bay suggestion, we got ours from there when M&Ps had run out

Jelly baby –didn’t mean a design fault, meant a fault they have in that emails get sent out saying things are back in stock online when theyre not! I have tried the Bay of E and had no luck!

What a shame, that's a lovely range.

I'm in Leigh-on-Sea, will you be having your LOs in Southend?  I found them great last time and have had no issues (other than really long appointment times) so far this time.  I have a friend who had twins there back in March and she was very happy.

I'm in Preston and will have a look for you tomorrow.
