  • Help me find an outfit for Zoe to wear to a wedding

Before Zoe was born we hit the Monsoon sale and got a gorgeous dress and matching cardigan for her to wear to a wedding in two weeks.  We bought it in 3-6 mths because she is going to be 16 weeks - but it's huge on her.  It looks so cute on her and she really suits the style but it looks like she is wearing someone elses clothes.  I'm not sure I can justify spending the full price amount on a Monsoon one (and I'm not sure I like them as much as the one we've got).

Can anyone recommend a lovely girls outfit in 0-3 mths ?  Budget is probably around £20.  This is the one we had got.  Also if anyone is selling anything that might be suitable I wouldn't rule out second hand.

Apologies for lack of capital letters - Zoe has stolen my shift key Huh?

not sure if this is your thing but we've got eleanor this in 9 - 12 months for a wedding next month and i think it's going to be too big

but i'm not sure this is your thing so i hope you're not offended at the suggestion.

I can't think off the top of my head whether i have anything suitable in the loft that you could borrow or have in that size.  If i think of anything I'll let you know.

Gorgeous dress, think there's nothing else for it, you'll just need to feed her lots to make her fit it Wink  We were at a wedding on saturday and Abigail & Lilys dresses ended up coming from Tesco, I was really surprised how lovely they were, they have a baby boutique range now and Lilys dress was gorgeous with a little matching cardigan too.  On our search we came across a lot of nice dresses for Lily (there were loads of nice baby ones it was the toddler I had the problems with) but from memory the best ones were in zara and bhs had a fab selection too.  Also, have you tried looking on ebay to see if anyone might be selling that dress in the smaller size?

Boden have some gorgeous dresses and most are around £20. I bought Lily this one for a wedding we are going to:

Oooh, funny you should say Monsoon, I opened this to post about R's wedding outfit... to ask if you want to borrow it.   It's Monsoon bought in sale at Xmas so not available now. It's 0-3, and at 13lb it still fits her easily.  Checked last night, as we have a wedding tomorrow!  I don't have a great picture of it, but can take one if you're interested to borrow it.  We also got a little knitted cream shrug with a detachable faux fur white collar - it's absolutely adorable!

It's very grown up and always gets coo'd over - it's her third wedding in it tomorrow...  She's modelling it below on daddy's birthday card photo.

    Happy Birthday Daddy!

Marine Girl, that dress is Love

jellybaby, Next have some lovely babygirls dresses in at the moment, as do M&S. I always get clothes for my little girl cousins from BabbleBoom and Matthew Williamson at Debenhams

Sparkling - we have very similar taste as I've actually bought both those dresses in 3-6 mths for Zoe to wear in the summer / on holiday etc.  I really, really love the Next one and did think about changing it for 0-3 but then I was worried that as there are 5 baby girls that we know going then with it being the current season then quite a few people might have it.

MG - I remember seeing that dress at Xmas too (so it wasn't just me that hit the sale - you kept that one quiet) but unfortunately the colour doesn't really suit Z.  Gosh, I'm fussy.

Will have a look at Tesco, Zara and BHS tomorrow.  There is a nice dress in Tesco but they never seem to have 0-3 in stock.

Zara have some lovely dresses in at the moment.

  • Re: Help me find an outfit for Zoe to wear to a wedding

There are actually some gorgeous dresses in Primark at the mo - Holly has a white one with turquoise flowers and sparkles, and a navy blue one with white spots. Both were only a fiver too.

  • Re: Help me find an outfit for Zoe to wear to a wedding

Damn living in the back of beyond (well, sort of) - we don't have a Primark or a Debenhams.  We do have Zara so I'll try there.  The trouble is that if I see a gorgeous dress (like the Next ones) I want to buy them in 3-6 mth so I can get more wear out of them.

I am slightly tempted to put her in the rather oversized dress.  Will have to show my mum and see whether she thinks it looks silly.

JB, I'm a terrible mummy because I've never considered what colours might suit her - just buy what I like!  Hope you find something nice - and get another chance to wear that 3-6m one - it's Love

  • Re: Help me find an outfit for Zoe to wear to a wedding

Well I hadn't really either until my mum commented that she looked really hideous in pale lilac - and she was very right about that too.  Shame I'd bought rather a lot of purple / lilac for her.  She has completely the opposite colouring to me so the things I am drawn to (ie what suits me) just does nothing for her.

    M&CO (Knaresborough or online)

    JoJo (harrogate or online)

The top two are £16.50 for the set, the bottom one £18. Asda do some lovely things (nice dresses and cardigans etc), well worth a look. I know of some other fab shops but they can be quite pricey- even more so when you they are so little and nothing lasts long!

Have you looked on ebay too?

    or www.justdresses.co.uk

  • Re: Help me find an outfit for Zoe to wear to a wedding

glad to hear we have similar tastes.

Asda might also be worth a look.

  • Re: Help me find an outfit for Zoe to wear to a wedding

I'm like the M&Co ones too.  Will be off to look at their website.

Today I have trawled M&S, BHS, Next, Zara, Gap ... several lovely dresses but not that I want to buy in 0-3 when I know she will probably only fit in it for the next month at the most.

I do like this but not sure if it's "weddingy" enough - it's a pretty formal wedding, H is wearing morning dress, women in hat's and it's Zoe's godfather getting married.  What do you think ?
