  • Favors

Hi, What are you all having for favors?

I am having 80 guests to the sit down meal and really dont want to spend much on favours but feel i should have them.

anyone got any good deals lately that they dont mind sharing.

Ps - is it favours or favors?

Think they only cost us £35 bought it all at the National wedding show in London.

Chexk ou e*bay loads odf stuff on there, you could just get organza bags and fill them with a few sweets?

  • Re: Favors

We are having alcohol miniatures for the adults, activity bags for the kiddies and chocolates for the inbetweeners!

We have individual boxes for the miniatures which will double as place names too.

Favours. Without the u makes it an Americanised spelling.

Personally, they are a waste of money - why do you feel you should have them? I've been to quite a few weddings and I've only seen favours at 2 weddings. They were all left behind as well - save your money & put it towards something else, like money behind the bar, extra money for a good car, or even an exciting thing to do on honeymoon, like a helicopter ride.

  • Re: Favors

I'm going down the charity pin route, probably having them attached to the name cards.

Think we will also get some wrapped choc hearts too & put them in bowls or something like that - you can get some really reasonably priced.

We're having organza bags filled with pink heart dragee type sweets.

Went to a wedding the other week and they had little boxes of chocolate eggs - ate all of them because the food took so long to come!

Well,,,, until i joined this website i had  no bloody clue what they were and had only ever been to one wedding where they had them.

I just feel like people who are marrried/ getting married/ know what they are would expect them....?? maybe not i guess.

These are ours. A little flower pot which I have painted and they will have a few seeds in (3 packs for a quid, local pound shopWink) I like the idea of them having something they can keep although they may be a little disappointed there are no sweets but toughBig Smile

Seriously - save your money! You can probably tell I'm not a fan of favours Laugh

  • Re: Favors

I say save your money too.....!! I've been to a fair few weddings, and to be honest, I've not missed them. If anything, I've lost mine as I've got up and had a boogy later in the evening!

The last wedding I went to, my friend who's wedding it was gave me about 5 boxes of chocs at the end of the night, and H2B about the same that had been left on tables! Being the control freak she was, she didn't want anything to be wasted so we got them!!

  • Re: Favors

Ooh, one good favour was a wedding I went to last year, where the bride had made dragonfly like brooches for the female guests (nothing for the blokes) and these were attached to the napkins to add to the table decoration.

However, most did get left behind still, but at least it doubled up as something else!!
